The Quality Of Life In The United States Is Going Down The Toilet

Is the quality of life in America getting better, or is it getting worse?  Americans certainly have a lot more “money” than they did when I was a kid, but that doesn’t mean much because the U.S. dollar has only a fraction of the value that it did back then.  And without a doubt our electronic devices have become much more advanced, but that doesn’t mean that we are happier.

In fact, everywhere I look people seem to be deeply unhappy.  It is rare to see someone actually smiling in public, but of course there is a good reason for that.  If you smile too much, someone might accuse you of being creepy.  As Americans, we are being trained to not express emotions and to keep to ourselves.  Being friendly is considered to be “suspicious”, if you tell a joke there is a very good chance that you will deeply offend someone, and if you express strong opinions you might just get “canceled”.

Even though we are far more “wealthy” than they were, I imagine that our culture is not too different from what East Germans experienced before the Berlin Wall came down.

There is so much hate and division in our society, and everyone seems ready to rat out those around them at the drop of a hat.  So most people are careful to keep to themselves, but at the same time most people are desperately lonely.

These days, most Americans walk around like a bunch of zombies.  In fact, as a result of mental health problems and stress, a majority of Americans are exhibiting at least one of the symptoms of post-concussion syndrome

A survey of more than 31,000 people shows that insufficient sleep, mental health problems, and stress were the causes of a whole host of symptoms doctors are used to seeing in head injury patients. Symptoms of what doctors call post-concussion syndrome (PCS) range from persistent headaches, dizziness and anxiety, to insomnia and loss of concentration and memory.

While 27 percent of people report having several of these symptoms, between one-half and three-quarters say they experience at least one. The most common symptoms are fatigue, low energy and drowsiness. Yet despite their findings, researchers believe the number in the general population could be much higher.

Of course one of the primary reasons why so many people are acting like zombies is because we have been drugged out of our minds.  Americans take more legal drugs than anyone ever has in the entire history of the world, and each year the pharmaceutical companies come up with even more drugs for us to try.

In particular, because we are so deeply unhappy Americans take boatloads of anti-depressants.  More than 50 million Americans are on anti-depressants right now, and it gets worse with each passing year.

But even though we are taking so many “happy pills”, Americans continue to kill themselves at a staggering pace, and this is particularly true for our young people.

In North Carolina, one school superintendent recently shared the fact that “the suicide rate among teens is higher than the COVID rate of death in their county”…

The debate to reopen schools for in-person learning has highlighted an alarming idea – that students are not just falling behind academically, but at a heightened risk of death by suicide.

“One of our local superintendents recently shared with me that the suicide rate among teens is higher than the COVID rate of death in their county,” Sen. Deanna Ballard, a Republican from the 45th district, recently told CBS 17, though she declined to name the superintendent or county. Ballard did not respond to NC Health News’ requests for comment.

Isn’t that insane?

You can’t just blame the pandemic for the rise in suicide either.  In fact, the national suicide rate for teens was skyrocketing before the pandemic ever began

The national rate of suicide in young people increased 57 percent between 2007 and 2018, according to the CDC.

“Even before the pandemic, we’ve been seeing an increase in youth suicides,” said Virginia Hamlet Rodillas, hotline manager for National Alliance on Mental Illness NC, which operates a statewide helpline.

If our society is so wonderful, then why are so many kids killing themselves?

The truth is that our society has become so sick and so twisted that life seems completely empty to so many of these youths.  Life is such a wonderful gift, and every day should be enjoyed to the fullest, but our society has become so evil that many teens are killing themselves rather than live in it one more day.

I once wrote an entire book about why people can have hope in these deeply troubled times, and I really wish that I could get it into the hands of everyone in America.

There is hope even for those that are facing the darkest circumstances, but most people don’t realize that because our society certainly doesn’t offer any.

Overall life expectancy has been dropping in the U.S. as well.  In fact, during the first half of 2020 life expectancy in the United States declined by a full year

It’s already known that 2020 was the deadliest year in US history, with deaths topping 3MM for the first time. But the latest batch of morbid data is in, and they suggest things are about to get worse on average as life expectancy in the US dropped a full year during the first half of the year.

Life expectancy is a statistical measure of the average time a baby born today is expected to live. From January through June of last year, that was 77.8 years for the entire U.S. population, down from 78.8 years in 2019. It’s the lowest level since 2006, the report said.

Our healthcare system has become a complete and utter nightmare, and it is not going to get any better any time soon.

Speaking of nightmares, our system of public education has become a sick joke.  Just look at what has been going on in Baltimore

A shocking discovery out of a Baltimore City high school, where Project Baltimore has found hundreds of students are failing. It’s a school where a student who passed three classes in four years, ranks near the top half of his class with a 0.13 grade point average.

Tiffany France thought her son would receive his diploma this coming June. But after four years of high school, France just learned, her 17-year-old must start over. He’s been moved back to ninth grade.

Millions upon millions of young people graduate from high school each year, but many of them can barely read, write or speak in public.

I could go on and on.  Just about every system that you could possibly name is in the process of failing, and that is probably why our satisfaction with the way our country is functioning is at the lowest level ever measured.  The following comes from Gallup

Americans’ satisfaction with seven broad aspects of the way the country functions is collectively at its lowest in two decades of Gallup measurement. This includes satisfaction with the overall quality of life in the U.S., assessments of government, corporate and religious influence, and perceptions of the economic and moral climates.

The average percentage satisfied with these seven dimensions has plunged to 39% at the start of 2021. That compares with 53% a year ago, the highest average in more than a decade amid strong economic confidence and before the coronavirus pandemic took hold in the U.S.

So once again I wish to pose a question to you.

Is the quality of life in America getting better, or is it getting worse?

The answer is quite obvious, and the rest of the world is laughing at us as our once great nation steadily deteriorates.

***Michael’s new book entitled “Lost Prophecies Of The Future Of America” is now available in paperback and for the Kindle on Amazon.***

SIDEBAR:

Our politicians have turned our financial system into a game of Monopoly.

And it doesn’t take a fancy MBA degree to see this — the evidence is overwhelming to anyone who pops their head up and pays attention for a few moments.

Stocks continue to hit all-time highs as ‘economic growth’ remains halted from the coronavirus...

The Federal Reserve printing a seemingly infinite supply of money with no repercussions…

inflation fears are starting to grow…

There is less and less that the government can do to keep things afloat.

America’s ‘day of reckoning’ is knocking at our door.

Unfortunately, it might happen sooner than later…

the attacks on Christianity, the family, individual freedom, morality and moral judgements; multiculturalism; the cult of victimhood, ‘tolerance,’ political correctness, the replacement of the roles of family, religion, individual responsibility and choice with government rules, laws and regs…”

The takeover of the universities has spread to the newsrooms… and now to the workplace at large.

The purges aren’t just coming — they’re here. Some recent examples of people who’ve been “cancelled,” from all walks of life…

  • A curator at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art resigned last week after 20 years because he said, “We will definitely still continue to collect white artists”
  • A Boeing executive recently resigned after only six months on the job because when he was a Navy pilot, he wrote an article opposing women in combat. He wrote the offending article… in 1987
  • A worker for the electric utility in San Diego was fired because he was seen making the “OK” sign in his company truck — unbeknownst to him, a white-power gesture. (He says he was cracking his knuckles.)

Of course, private employers have the right to hire and fire as they wish. But ponder the irony here: “It is strange that ‘cancel culture’ has become a project of the left, which spent the 20th century fighting against capricious firings of ‘troublesome’ employees,” writes Helen Lewis in The Atlantic.

There’s a petition to get a college instructor in New York fired because it looked as if she might have nodded off during a Zoom meeting to discuss the adoption of an “anti-racist framework.”

[March 2021 update:The corporate media never followed up on the instructor's fate, having quickly moved on to the next hair-on-fire outrage du jour

“Many progressives today are not aware that the struggle for free speech was a central project of the left and something that was historically resisted by the right,” writes Leigh Phillips at Jacobin magazine.

Gone are the days when the left rallied around the socialist leader Eugene Debs — thrown in prison under the Espionage Act of 1917 merely for giving a speech in which he said bankers and arms merchants stood to gain the most from American entry into World War I. (That law remains on the books today.)

Gone too are the days of the late 1970s, when the ACLU stood up for the right of neo-Nazis to march through Skokie, Illinois — a largely Jewish suburb of Chicago. Nowadays, the ACLU considers “the potential effect on marginalized communities” when deciding which free speech cases it will litigate.

“Too many modern progressives, particularly younger ones, have become indifferent to free speech,” Phillips continues, “or, worse, come to view the defense of free speech as something foreign to the left and a weapon of oppression.”

Where does it end? In “historic disaster,”

Democrats are about to go tax-crazy, just as they promised.

Well, let’s be clear about something – they’re not exactly doing what they promised. President Joe Biden told Americans that no one making under $400,000 a year would see an increase in taxes. This is simply not true. Democrats plan to raise taxes in many ways – which will impact everyone.

This is one of the more blatant examples.

Is Everything in America Broken-8 Possible Reasons

Wow,” she said on Twitter. “Anyone notice food is becoming outrageously expensive?”

Is Everything in America Broken-8 Possible Reasons

Why do food prices seem to be getting higher around the U.S.? And why, as we’ve laid out in previous episodes, is this trend set to continue?

The mainstream narrative will likely gather around COVID-19 as the main culprit for rising food costs. Indeed, it did cause a disruption in food supply chains (or, if we’re being genuine, the panicked reaction of it did so)...

But so did (and will) other things.

Such as:

Record droughts: Of course, weather will always be a factor. Record droughts wracked Mexico and the Western United States, where a good chunk of our food is produced. But it can’t take all of the blame for this trend.

Printer Bust: Printing trillions of dollars… and keeping the printers running hot to infinity… won’t help.

Dollar Bust: The ensuing plummeting value of the dollar.

Pipeline Bust: For better or worse, an increase in restrictions on fossil fuel extraction, which must inevitably translate into higher gas prices, equating to higher costs for farming, food production, and transportation of food products.

Financialized Bust: The financialization which has become so all-pervasive it can destroy lives with nothing more than a bleary eye and a fat finger.

Supply Chain Bust: Weakening global and local supply chains as a result of haphazard busybodying, red tape, and unforeseen shocks and disruptions.

Tax Bust: Higher taxes, which, without fail, inadvertently or advertently, sooner or later, get thrust onto the consumer.

Government Waste Bust: Government corruption, incompetence, pork, and blatant waste happening all over the world, and reaching brazen new heights every day.

(Other than that, everything is fine.)

Alas, we have yet another thing to worry about, according to the pundits:

According to some, NFTs, the crypto-collectible digital art pieces currently all the rage, are burning down the rainforests.

Or, at least, they’re an ecological disaster waiting to happen.

Or, at least, they’re, in the words of author Seth Godin, “a trap.”

Godin:

“It’s an ongoing waste that creates little in ongoing value and gets less efficient and more expensive as time goes on. For most technological innovations the opposite is true.”

Is it true?

Are NFTs Killing Polar Bears?

Waste, of course, is a relative term. And we have to look at it from both sides.

For example, how much waste is baked into the dollar’s cake?

The dollar empire seems destined to drown in its own waste (but not before the dollar savers drown first).

History might reveal this to be the inevitable endgame of an empire that stretched itself too thin.

History might also reveal this time to be the end of an old paradigm. And the shaky beginning of a new one.

But nothing’s set in stone.

I think we have a choice: between centralization and control or decentralization and freedom.

In case you haven't noticed, events in the world are getting downright Biblical. We now have a rash of plagues (mice and spiders in Australia), earthquakes, volcanoes, droughts and even new super strain pandemics (caused by the covid vaccine itself).

In California, a couple that bought a new home is unable to occupy it because a "covid squatter" has been living there for a year, and the local police refuse to take any action. Insane, right?

Today's feature story and podcast cover all these insane stories (and many more) in great detail.

If you own anything that runs on gasoline, you may wish to build a survival fuel cache soon.

Just know that it’s about to get a whole lot more expensive, and you’ll be kicking yourself for not getting it “when it was so cheap.”

Sure, the cost of gas has skyrocketed 30% since November, hitting a national average of $2.85 a gallon…

But experts warn that we’re in the early stages of the price hike, and we could see $3.00 per gallon as early as April - and we’ll likely hit $4.00 after that…

So, now’s the time...

Not only will you save money in the coming months, but you’ll also be building an often neglected survival fuel cache.

Because when the power goes out, the gas pumps don’t work…

Natural disasters like hurricanes constantly disrupt the supply chain, creating gas shortages in hard hit areas.

It’s tough to bug out when your gas gauge is pinned on “E.”

And your generator won’t run on the salty tears of the unprepared.

So, do yourself the favor and consider building up your survival fuel cache now, before you desperately need it and find yourself out of luck.

Here are a few things to consider when you’re getting started…

First, decide on how much gas you’ll need.

My advice would be to have enough to power your generator for at least a week if you need to shelter in place.

Your owner’s manual should tell you how much your machine needs to keep it going per hour…

And only you know what you’ll need to keep powered up and for how long...

Take those figures, do some quick multiplication, and you’ll have the number of gallons you need.

You’ll also want to keep enough fuel on hand to keep your vehicle topped-of in the event that the pumps are out of commission for a week or so.

And if you have a bugout location, figure out how much you need to get there, then add 25% to the total to be safe.

Next, ensure you can safely store the gas…

Gas cans are at most home improvement stores, and online.

Pick the sizes you want - there are plenty of options - and be sure to keep in mind the ability to carry and transport the gas cans.

Too big and they become a burden instead of a blessing.

Quick note: do NOT vent your gas cans.

No Opposition Allowed - Woke morons are asleep at the wheel

No Opposition Allowed

Woke morons are asleep at the wheel…

On April 26, 1933, the interior minister for the German state of Prussia issued a decree creating a new secret state police, or Geheime Staats Polizei, abbreviated: Gestapo.

The Gestapo was tasked with stamping out all opposition to Germany’s new Chancellor and the party he brought to power one year earlier.

It operated by collecting tips from ordinary citizens, including even school children. And this network of Gestapo informants changed Germans’ behavior almost overnight.

Even a joke about the ruling party could land you in a Gestapo interrogation room. Talking politics around your children became a dangerous gamble.

According to Erik Larson’s book In the Garden of Beasts, 37% of denunciations “arose not from heartfelt political beliefs, but from private conflicts with the trigger often breathtakingly trivial.”

For example in one case, a grocery store clerk reported a customer who insisted on receiving the wrong change. The customer was accused of tax fraud.

Another man lent a banned book to his friend, and was quickly denounced by his friend’s wife.

The new Chancellor— who encouraged the behavior — was so shocked by the citizens’ eagerness to rat out their neighbors that he remarked, “We are living at present in a sea of denunciations and human meanness.”

That Chancellor, of course, was Adolf Hitler.

The secret police didn’t need wire taps in every home or spies on every street corner. They found an army of willing, eager informants in the general population.

The volume of denunciations was so great, in fact, that the Gestapo actually had to ask people to stop reporting political crimes to them, because they were overwhelmed and found it impossible to process them all.

Obviously Germany in the 1930s is an extreme case, and I’m not saying that the West today is in the same boat. Not even close.

The similarity, however, is how quickly things changed.

In Nazi Germany, the entire culture changed literally within a few months. In early Spring of 1933, people were still civil to one another. By the summer, they were ratting out their friends and neighbors to the secret police.

Similarly, it wasn’t that long ago that people in the west felt free to speak their minds and state an opinion.

Today saying the wrong words can get you fired, cancelled, and your life turned upside down.

For example, lately there’s been a number of so-called “fact checkers,” i.e. self-appointed censors, who are upset about a new app called Clubhouse.

If you haven’t heard of it, Clubhouse allows people to discuss different topics in audio-only chat rooms.

The audio-based content does not allow recording. And that means there is no record of conversations.

As one fact-checker laments:

“...there are no screenshots. There is no way to drag up old Clubhouse posts years later like a user might do on Twitter. There is no way to record conversations—meaning there is no way to prove that someone said anything controversial at all. . . Users on Clubhouse know, or at least believe, that they can openly speak their mind with zero repercussions.

The horror!

This drives the ‘fact checkers’ bananas. They want people to be afraid to speak their minds. They want people to fear being denounced if they do not adhere to the doctrine of wokeness.

One particularly angry fact checker penned a virtriolic article noting that the Chinese government has already banned Clubhouse.

She then asks the reader, “If Xi Jinping’s administration isn’t ignoring Clubhouse, why should fact-checkers? Why should you?”

Apparently, the repressive Chinese regime is a shining example that the fact checkers think we should all follow.

Just like the West followed China’s lead on imprisoning people inside their homes in the name of stopping the spread of Covid-19, the West should apparently stamp out any platform that allows intellectual dissent.

Of course, intellectual dissent covers a lot of ground these days.

For example, a professor at John Hopkins School of Medicine wrote an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal recently predicting “We’ll Have Herd Immunity by April”.

The author has impeccible credentials; in addition to his MD, he obtained a Maser of Public Health from Harvard, served at the World Health Organization, and was recommended by the American College of Surgeons to become the Surgeon General of the United States.

But the fact checkers don’t think that his view should be repeated.

So Facebook’s fact checkers stuck a “misinformation” label on the article, stating: “Missing Context. Independent fact-checkers say this information could mislead people.”

Sure, there are scientists who think that herd immunity is a long way off.

But Facebook’s fact-checkers decided for everyone which scientists’ opinions were ‘correct’ and which scientists’ opinions should be censored.

The aim of these people is to reinforce a specific narrative, and denounce anything contrary to that narrative as “misinformation” or “hate speech”. And anyone who is caught sharing or espousing such views is derided as a conspiracy theorist... or worse.

Why do these “woke” people hate everything the average person loves but themselves? This “woke” garbage has permeated the corporate world as well, infecting the current crop of executives and decision makers. Now apparently, the classic board game “Monopoly” will be getting an update for the first time in 85 years

Accept the opinions they tell you are correct, or be denounced.

What’s incredible is that this culture has emerged in basically less than a year.

The US, along with many western countries, have clearly changed. Freedom is no longer the widely accepted cultural value it once was. It’s been replaced by compliance, censorship, and fanaticism.

If this doesn’t make you start thinking about a Plan B, I’m not sure what will.

To your freedom,

These three things, dreams of the Left for decades, will be passed in the next few weeks and will virtually guarantee one-party rule in the U.S.

The 'coup de grace' for America proves we could not keep a Republic.

Through insane levels of fiat currency printing, continued economic lockdowns and dis-incentivizing actual work, the Biden regime is creating a "perfect storm" of financial collapse.

We're already seeing skyrocketing prices in food, fuel, housing and commodities in 2021 (so far), indicating the value of the dollar is already collapsing by 20 percent or more.

This is a red alert warning to exit the dollar and prepare for an accelerating dollar collapse.
