Verisimilitude: the appearance of truth

Our ruling elite are masters at manipulating the truth and will do whatever they can to deceive the public. It’s no shock that I’m a believer in what our Founders wanted - limited government and maximum individual liberty.

The above term is one I taught in the marketing classes I conducted at Cleveland State University and it is one that politicians know well.

A sure sign of a failing government is a stepped up propaganda agenda which attempt to convey to the people that the policies of the administration are here to help you. Another sign is its growing aggressiveness toward its own citizens. The US puts more people in jail than any other country in the world, it deprives more people of its assets than any other country in the world; especially now through its escalating ponzi scheme of intergovernmental bonds, devaluation of our currency, etc.

We can see the growing loss of confidence in our system among investors such as Warren Buffet and Bill Gross who advise their clients to sell off dollar investments, “before central banks and sovereign funds do.’

Not exactly a vote of confidence and as the debt crisis grows, you will find our government turning against its own populace on a grander scale, leading to economic tyranny…as I announced previously, the IRS now wants your PayPal transactions reported (watch for PayPal to begin requesting your Socialist Slave number or EIN in the coming year) AND, the gold tax on anyone selling $600 worth of gold must now be reported to the IRS also!

The dollar will continue to weaken as the emerging world continues to outgrow the United States…growth in emerging markets such as Chile and Peru, China and India, will help keep the bull market in gold going forward and will further erode the value of our dollar.

Got a few spare trillion…sounds like Fed does (keep your ears open as the fed makes the mistake of buying up its own debt…the so-called “intergovernmental bonds.” Watch out for the propaganda brewing from Washington informing them of a new program called Treasury Direct, allowing us to buy savings bonds direct automatically via payroll or a personal checking account. The intent is to force private pensions to hold government debt in the form of long-term US bonds, paid off by less valuable currency for pennies on the dollar.

What a deal! Don’t bite.

>>Bill-thanks for pointing out one of those skeletons in my closet (see previous issue)…“Poor Man Charged with Possession of Illegal Death Ray.”<<

"Our federal government, which was intended to operate as a very limited constitutional republic, has instead become a virtually socialist leviathan that redistributes trillions of dollars. We can hardly be surprised when countless special interests fight for the money. The only true solution to the campaign money problem is a return to a proper constitutional government that does not control the economy. Big government and big campaign money go hand-in-hand."
-- Dr. Ron Paul
(1935-) American physician, US Congressman (R-TX),

Download Tube

YouTube is the new cable TV and as much as most people hate to admit it, it's easy to get hooked. Who here hasn't gone on a YouTube marathon only to realize that 6 hours have passed by and the birds are already chirping outside ? Darn those video recommendations. Wouldn't it be easier if you could take those videos along for the subway ride or when you are waiting at a coffee shop ? is meant specifically for such purposes. It's clearly aimed at fulfilling the need for a quality YouTube downloader and many of the downloaders include additional and sometimes unnecessary features. The process is very basic, you simply copy the link of the YouTube video that you want to download from the address bar of the browser and paste it in the URL field of main page.

Step number 2, in my opinion is the icing on the cake. The website lets you convert the video you want to download to another accessible format. Usually YouTube video are in the flash ‘FLV' format meaning that to play them after downloading, you need to have a FLV player installed on your machine . However by converting a YouTube video to a more convenient format (like mpg) we can eliminate this extra step. gives you the option to convert the video for your phone, iPod and even the PSP.

Then, just click the Convert and Download button and within a few minutes you will be able to download your desired YouTube video, by clicking on the Download button.

Study: 95% of Green Products Make Baseless or Misleading Claims
Marketers have figured out that the public responds well to products that are good for the environment. The trouble is a new study suggests that most of the green products make at least one claim that is misleading or unsubstantiated. See full study. [pdf]

Take advantage of the Energy Tax Credit, you'd better act fast. The credit for HVAC, insulation, roofs, water heaters, windows & doors and biomass stoves expires December 31, and is not scheduled for renewal. It's worth up to $1,500.
Tip: Stack the tax credit with rebate offers from product manufacturer's and your local utility company to save even more. I plan to use the credit to replace my HVAC system. Here's a sample game plan:
Energy Tax Credit - $1,500
Manufacturer Rebate - $1,250
TVA Rebate - $250
Total Savings: $3,000

Your Coupon Can Track You!
The advent of online coupons has made shopping and saving that much easier. In an earlier era, people spent their Sunday mornings clipping coupons out of the newspaper.
Now, you can download coupons from dedicated sites like or, or even social networking sites like Facebook and LinkedIn. But this convenience carries certain privacy risks: Some companies track consumer spending habits based on the coupons those consumers use.
Last April, The New York Times reported on how a company called RevTrax, which manages online coupons for retailers, was tracking consumer spending habits through these online coupons. RevTrax clients include stores like Filene's Basement, Lord & Taylor, and Micro Centre; restaurants like Ruby Tuesday; and a number of marketing agencies representing multiple clients.

Home Funerals Are More Personal and Less Expensive
Joshua Slocum
Funeral Consumers Alliance

Home funerals are more personal and less expensive than traditional funerals. Family members wash and dress deceased loved ones for burial, arrange viewing hours, even can build the coffin and conduct the funeral service. Families must get a death certificate -- usually from the doctor in attendance at death or the deceased’s primary care doctor -- and a transit permit (from the health department) so that the body can be moved from a hospital to a home, cemetery or crematory. Some communities, especially those in rural or semirural areas, allow backyard burial. Families are allowed to handle the body themselves in most states -- only Connecticut, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Nebraska and New York require involvement of a funeral director. Cost savings can be significant -- an average funeral costs about $6,000, but a home funeral may cost as little as $250.
Bottom Line/Personal interviewed Joshua Slocum, executive director, Funeral Consumers Alliance, South Burlington, Vermont.
NOTE: The Poor Man recently buried both of his parents & funerals are unbelievably expensive as are the obits in newspapers.

Reading a Bar Code to Determine Which Country the product is made:

If the first 3 digits of the barcode are 690, 691or 692, the product is MADE IN CHINA.
471 is Made in Taiwan. This is our right to know, but the government
and related departments never educate the public, therefore we have to RESCUE ourselves.

Nowadays, Chinese businessmen know that consumers do not prefer products "MADE IN CHINA", so they don't show from which country it is made.

However, you may now refer to the barcode -
remember if the first 3 digits are:

690-692 ... then it is MADE IN CHINA
00 - 09 ... USA & CANADA
30 - 37 ... FRANCE
40 - 44 ... GERMANY
471 ... Taiwan
49 ... JAPAN
50 ... UK

We don't know a millionth of one percent about anything."

Some highlights on the coming tax year-what you can expect…
we feel completely confident making this post-election prediction anyway: Your taxes are going up!
Now, if you are wondering right about now if we have been living in a cave the last few weeks, don’t worry. We know that the Republicans seem poised to take back control of the House of Representatives, and make inroads in the Senate. And yes, we know that many Republicans have talked about tax cuts in one form or another.
BUT here’s the truth:
Thanks to a weak economy, tax revenue fell again in 2010. That means less money to pay for our massive deficit and to keep feeding the government’s huge appetite for spending.
We know the government isn’t going to significantly cut spending to pay these bills, so there is no other alternative but higher taxes.

Higher taxes on marriage and family.

The "marriage penalty" (narrower tax brackets for married couples) will return from the first dollar of income.

The child tax credit will be cut in half from $1000 to $500 per child.

The standard deduction will no longer be doubled for married couples relative to the single level.

The dependent care and adoption tax credits will be cut

The Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) and Employer Tax Hikes

When Americans prepare to file their tax returns in January of 2011, they'll be in for a nasty surprise-the AMT won't be held harmless, and many tax relief provisions will have expired.

The major items include:

The AMT will ensnare over 28 million families, up from 4 million last year.

According to the left-leaning Tax Policy Center , Congress' failure to index the AMT will lead to an explosion of AMT taxpaying families-rising from 4 million last year to 28.5 million. These families will have to calculate their tax burdens twice, and pay taxes at the higher level. The AMT was created in 1969 to ensnare a handful of taxpayers

Medical insurance will be INCOME on your W2's!

One of the surprises we'll find come next year, is what follows - - a little "surprise" that 99% of us had no idea was included in the "new and improved" healthcare legislation . . . the dupes, er, dopes, who backed this administration will be astonished!

Starting in 2011, (next year folks), your W-2 tax form sent by your employer will be increased to show the value of whatever health insurance you are given by the company. It does not matter if that's a private concern or governmental body of some sort.

If you're retired? So what... your gross will go up by the amount of insurance you get.

You will be required to pay taxes on a large sum of money that you have never seen. Take your tax form you just finished and see what $15,000 or $20,000 additional gross does to your tax debt.. That's what you'll pay next year.

For many, it also puts you into a new higher bracket so it's even worse.

This is how the government is going to buy insurance for the 15% that don't have insurance and it's only part of the tax increases.

Here is a research of the summaries.....

as modified by sec. 10901) Sec.9002 "requires employers to include in the W-2 form of each employee the aggregate cost of applicable employer sponsored group health coverage that is excludable from the employees gross income."

I Have a Degree in Liberal Arts; Do You Want Fries With That?

Well, did you waste a vote this week?

Ever since I can remember everyone is chastised to “get out and vote.” Why bother?

Nothing ever changes, despite tired old grandiose promises made by candidates. For 30 years the American public has been screwed regardless of which party is in power…they’re equal opportunity destroyers!

Neither party has done anything about a national energy program to get us off our foreign oil addiction. No one has done a damned thing about illegal immigration (except to hassle Arizona). Neither party has stopped its bankrupting of America. Neither party has strengthened our privacy laws. Neither party has obeyed the tenants of the Constitution.

"Our nation is headed in the wrong direction, and both parties are to blame."
--Marco Rubio

What have they done? As far as I can see, they’ve enriched themselves and their corporate masters, violated the American worker and have ruined the American Dream.

Lies and more lies is all I’ve seen for 30 years. Yes, I am jaded but with strong foundation. Here’s my challenge to ANYONE: During the past 35 years have any of these areas of life improved for Americans?

--Quality and cost of education
--worker wages and benefits
--cost of living-housing, food, utilities
--Our national debt, trade balance
--Our standing in the world
--stopped illegal immigration
--Improvements in cost of health care, prescriptions, etc.
--Your privacy

The bilge rats who really run this country keep feeding the masses nonsense about how important it is to get out and vote. They want you to believe that, otherwise, if people knew the truth, they might actually have the cajones to rebel and they couldn’t have that. So as long as the sheep continue to believe, they will be led to slaughter.

We have lost ground in every single category and I challenge anyone to point out otherwise and to tell me voting has improved this country. Since the jackasses in Congress allowed the creation of the un-Constitutional Fed and the income tax, we’ve lost 95% of the value of our dollar and they’ve sold us out ever since.

There is one thing both demorats and repubs have agreed on for the past 30 years - ignore the Constitution & stick it to the people! Career politicians are the bane of this country.

Here are a few fun things…

The most interesting thing about the Quiz is that it goes beyond the Democrat, Republican, and Independent.
The Quiz has gotten a lot of praise. The Washington Post said it has "gained respect as a valid measure of a person's political leanings." The Fraser Institute said it's "a fast, fun, and accurate assessment of a person's overall political views." Suite University said it is the "most concise and accurate political quiz out there."
