Emergency Communication Resources
If the government pulls the plug on the internet or other utilities,
these might come in handy.
Family Radio Service: The Family Radio Service (FRS) is an
improved walkie talkie radio system authorized in the United States since 1996.
This personal radio service uses channelized frequencies in the ultra high
frequency (UHF) band. It does not suffer the interference effects found on
citizens’ band (CB) at 27 MHz, or the 49 MHz band also used by cordless phones,
toys, and baby monitors.

TELEPHONE: Set up a phone tree: According to the American Association of
University Women, a phone tree is “a prearranged, pyramid-shaped system for
activating a group of people by telephone” that can “spread a brief message
quickly and efficiently to a large number of people.
GET SATELLITE ACCESS You can have very, very slow internet if you
have something similar to an Iridium phone, which would allow you to do dial up
at 2400 baud, which at least gives you e-mail. This will also work when your
government has shut down GSM and telephone access, and will work pretty much
anywhere on the planet. If you’re in the right place, get yourself KA-SAT
access which is satellite broadband and will not be routed through any internet
exchange that certain local governments may monitor or block (unless that
government is part of EU or Uncle Sam.
Can be purchased online or via eBay.
Two-Way Radio: Usually good for up to
two miles and usually offer but three channels but easier than a CB radio which
can be monitored by others. Purchase at Wal Mart, Radio Shack, eBay, Best Buy,
etc.
Ease sore
muscles by filling a plastic baggy with dish detergent and freeze it. It’ll stay colder longer than a regular ice
pack…simply apply to sore areas.

10 Steps To Extra Cash
For example, if you realize you’re surrounded by cafes that cater to a
certain type of health conscious/trendy organic client what you provide will
change. Go in and look what’s on display. Seeing gluten free polenta cakes?
That’s a hint that they have clients who care about the free from market. If
you then notice that they don’t have dairy free cakes you have a beautiful
selling point if you make those (but make ‘em good!).
Of course you don’t have to fill a gap – that realization could lead
you to make your usual full-of-everything cake but position it in line with
that market (eg: ‘I only use organic eggs and blah blah blah). Decide on a
market and you wildly increase your chances of success.

Make Rechargeable Batteries Last Longer
Double the life of your cell phone, cordless phone, iPod, laptop
battery…wait until the battery is very low.
Every battery has a limited number of times it can be recharged -
usually 300-500 times. Recharging it
when it has 50% or more of its power uses up one full cycle. Waiting until the device is almost fully
depleted will add at least another year to its life.

U.S. v. Heicklen: The Nullification of Free Speech
Prosecution for exercising one’s free speech rights is becoming a trend
in the current Administration and the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Julian P. Heicklen, an 80-year-old retired chemistry professor and
advocate of jury nullification, found himself in a similar situation. Heicklen,
as part of his activism, would stand in front of courthouses with a “Jury Info”
sign, handing out pamphlets and explaining jury nullification to anyone who
would approach him.
Advocates of jury nullification believe that jurors can use their de facto
power to effectively change the law by refusing to convict a defendant under a
law that the juror disagrees with. Heicklen specifically advocated against the
enforcement of federal drug laws. More

Our Idiot of the Month Award
As reported at our face book page a week ago…
A vindictive Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) went a step further,
essentially issuing a "letter of mark and reprisal" against Saverin.
Introducing what he has styled the "Ex-Patriot Act" to permanently
ban folks like Saverin from ever setting foot in the U.S. again.
The Parting Thought –
Apathy in America & How Politicians Exploit it
Ancient Rome had its ‘bread and circuses’ to keep its citizens at
bay. America has ‘reality shows’ as its opiate for
the masses.
The United States has more unethical laws on the books than any other
country. As a result, the average person
breaks more than 22 laws each week.
Once upon a time in the North American country known as the United
States of America, there lived a nation of citizens that showed tremendous
interest in the state of their country’s well-being. With incredible zeal,
these citizens worked tirelessly to correct any local, national or
international issue that threatened them either as individuals or collectively,
showing no fear and great resolve while addressing any elected or appointed
public official that didn’t accurately represent the beliefs, ethics, morals
and values as expected by their constituents.
