More Ways to Fight the War on Americans

Last week we addressed Jury Nullification as a tool Americans can use to fight back against stupid laws. States should use this tactic more as well.

The federal government is too powerful, too big, and only getting bigger and bolder with its power grabs. Fortunately, our Founding Fathers had great foresight and purposefully added the Tenth Amendment into our Bill of Rights.

  • "The Tenth Amendment was intended to confirm the understanding of the people at the time the Constitution was adopted, that powers not granted to the United States were reserved to the States or to the people. It added nothing to the instrument as originally ratified." – United States v. Sprague (1931).
  • "When states and local communities take the lead on policy, the people are that much closer to the policymakers, and policymakers are that much more accountable to the people. Few Americans have spoken with their president; many have spoken with their mayor."
  • "Adherence to the Tenth Amendment is the first step towards ensuring liberty in the United States. Liberty through decentralization," says the think tank, The Tenth Amendment Center.

At the moment, about a dozen states are flexing their power and either considering or already placing important checks on ever-expanding federal power by opposing legislation such as NDAA and Obamacare. Learn how to get your state and local legislatures behind liberty by checking out https://TenthAmendmentCenter.com.

Our next issue will feature additional tools you can use to fight back against the 800 pound gorilla which is crushing America!

Babysitting Co-ops-A sitter solution

Daycare is expensive and a co-op often makes sense for exchanging free babysitting services and to exchange goods such as strollers, clothing, and toys.  Organizing a co-op does take some work including bookkeeping, charts of foods kids can or cannot eat, etc.

Many charge a one-time membership fee (average is $20) which covers the cost of setup and activities.

If you’re unable to find one locally, consider starting one using Smart Mom’s Babysitting Co-op Handbook – available at:  www.babysittingcoop.com

Homemade Balms and Toiletries

Tired of paying $5 for a little pot of lip, healing or Tiger Balm? For under $10, you can make all of these and still have tons left over to give away to friends as gifts. Making your own balm is easy, taking only seconds by melting a few natural ingredients in the microwave. When the base is done melting, you simply mix a few flavors, essential oils and/or scents and then pour into small containers to cool. The balm cools very quickly.

The Nanny State Updates…

Just before Hurricane Sandy, Obama signed executive order merging Homeland Security with private sector to create virtual dictatorship

While all eyes were on Hurricane Sandy in the days leading up to the storm's breach on the mainland of the Northeast, the White House was busy devising new ways to enslave Americans under the guise of protecting national security. On October 26, 2012, Barack Obama quietly signed an Executive Order (EO) establishing the so-called Homeland Security Partnership Council, a public-private partnership that basically merges the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with local governments and the private sector for the implied purpose of giving the Executive Branch complete and limitless control over the American people.

Total surveillance state: TSA plans to track all of your daily travels, whether to social events, grocery store or work

the lame-duck session of the 112th Congress begins, millions of Americans are looking to the elected members of the 113th Congress to fix a host of problems ailing the country. The economy and job creation aside, one of the most pressing issues is reining in out-of-control federal bureaucracies. The Environmental Protection Agency comes to mind, as does the Department of Agriculture's promotion of GM foods.

But additionally concerning is the rapid expansion of the size, scope and reach of the Transportation Security Administration, which continues to usurp authority and trample constitutional rights of more and more Americans - especially those who aren't flying.

The TSA and its mother agency, the Department of Homeland Security, was hurriedly established during the harried, hysterical weeks following the 9/11 attacks. Once designed to replace private airport security firms that were blamed for allowing the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorists to slip past checkpoints and take over four commercial airliners with razor blades, the TSA has since grown into a regulatory, bureaucratic behemoth that now claims jurisdiction over other modes of travel,
including bus and train stations.

The Parting Thought-Random thoughts on the election

By ceding control of her finances to foreigners, America is forfeiting much of her economic flexibility and freedom. But rather than addressing this lamentable fiscal trend by reducing the role of government, the American political machinery, in aggregate, has been expanding its role.

A Polarized nation helped Obama to win…Demographics are in his favor!

As the Bill of Rights becomes watered down, as the middle class continues to lose out and as government becomes the 800 pound gorilla dominating every element of our lives, etc. the polarization will continue. As we continue to become a nation of haves and have-nots, the polarization will continue. Obama's campaign took full advantage in the growing anger and growing minorities in this country whereby many feel there is nothing left except a move toward a more socialistic state...welcome to the land of OZ!

After 2 years and billions of dollars spent in the course of the presidential campaign, the challenges we confront – including the constitutional crisis connecting the wars on terror, drugs, and immigration – continue unabated. Americans from all walks of life remain subject to arbitrary policing and surveillance practices, and executive power to disregard constitutional limits has rarely been more extreme in America than it is today.

What will not Change…

Less than truthful politicians... seas of red tape and senseless regulations... and an increasing stranglehold on your day-to-day activities…it’s a "referendum" on the president’s progressive agenda... higher taxes, stifling regulation, nationalized health care, drone wars overseas... what’s not to like?

We’ll still be taxed, regulated, coerced, controlled, patted down, pulled over, censored, cited, and sued anytime we step outside of the ever-changing boundaries prescribed by the political and bureaucratic classes. Many take umbrage at these violations of our innate human freedom and dignity.

Why are voters so stupid? Regardless of who they vote for, the majority of voters have no clue *why* they voted for their choice. I call it the "Idiocracy" election of 2012!
