handed them all over to the federal government..."

Survival Of The Fittest And The Smartest

Given that people are hugely influenced by what they see on television, is it any wonder that fending for yourself out in the wild is one of the biggest challenges that people like to take on these days? If it wasn’t that, it would be taking on endless decoration or cooking challenges so heading to the great outdoors and pitting your wits against nature is something that many people are being inspired to do.

This is a great thing because it would be fair to say that many people have become too soft in recent years. The advances of modern technology mean that life has become quite easy at home for a lot of folk. There is no need or even desire to return to the caveman days on a permanent basis but there can something quite inspiring about getting in touch with nature. Taking a break from TV, mobile phones, laptops, tablets and constant work emails can be a little piece of bliss for many people in the modern era.

Be sensible with what you take

However, just because you aren’t going to rely on modern equipment like smartphones, Sat-Navs or modern cookers doesn’t mean that you have to go into the wild completely unprepared. This would be a recipe for disaster and would create a situation where you would be completely unprepared for what could happen. You don’t need to rely on cutting edge technology but being properly prepared will help you to get in touch with nature and have fun while staying safe.

Kitting yourself out in gear from the Outdoor Clothing Shops - Warwickshire Clothing range is the best way to be properly equipped for any time spent in the rough. Whether you are looking to go camping with the family for a few days or you intend on being a little bit more adventurous, being prepared for all weather conditions is the smart option.

It would be good to say in Britain that we know what the weather is going to be like but this is not a claim that anyone can make with any conviction. In the space of a couple of hours you can find yourself exposed to all four seasons and if you don’t have the clothing range that is equipped to deal with it, you will become rather miserable in no time at all.

That is the best case scenario because if you are exposed to the wind, rain, snow or even low temperatures for far too long, you may find that your health is at risk. The brave explorers and foragers on TV shows are never too far away from a film crew and can receive assistance at short notice. This is not something that is always available in real life so it makes sense to be properly prepared and equipped for whatever life in the wild may throw at you.

Getting in touch with the wilder side of life and challenging yourself to live off of the land and nature for a while is a great way to spend your spare time. It is however important to ensure you are properly prepared for all eventualities.

The Parting Thought:  Defending the Constitution against gov’t abuse

I, (NAME), do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

Notice what they vow to defend first and foremost. TheConstitution. The good men and women who serve our country are prepared to die for it. Yet, how many people really understand what it is they're defending?

Now, more than ever before, we need to understand what the Constitution says.

Why now?

  • Because the Constitution guarantees that citizens will not be subject to illegal search and seizure ... as they were in Boston last month. Law-abiding citizens were ordered out of their homes, hands on their heads, while their homes, and in some cases their persons, were searched without a warrant because of a "terrorist threat." If you were one of those people, your rights were violated.

And in another kind of illegal search and seizure just last week, it was revealed that the IRS illegally stole, without warrant or subpoena, 60 million private medical records from Americans. If you were one of the millions affected, your rights were violated.

  • Because the Constitution guarantees that citizens have the right to bear arms. You shouldn't have to have a license or a permit to exercise a constitutional right ... and states like New York, Colorado, and many others require just that. To add insult to injury, some states, like Connecticut, have confiscated guns (without due process) from law-abiding veterans based on flimsy excuses that they "might" have psychiatric problems.
  • Because the Constitution guarantees that people have freedom of expression and the government may not restrain, punish, or penalize them for it. Last week, it came to light that the IRS made unreasonable demands of numerous non-profit organizations, having a quelling effect on their activities and communications.
  • Because the Constitution guarantees that people may exercise their religion freely. Despite this guarantee, Washington state officials ignore it to harass a florist who will not provide flowers for a gay wedding because it goes against his religious beliefs. Worse, religious organizations are forced to provide health insurance to employees that offer practices that go against their conscience, such as contraception or abortion.

Five times in as many weeks, the government has stomped on constitutionally protected rights. Even if you were not directly affected, make no mistake about it ... you could be next. It's becoming ever more apparent that power-hungry government officials don't care about our constitutional rights.
