In the
new documentary Shadows of Liberty,
filmmaker Jean-Philippe Tremblay takes a journey through the darker corridors
of the US media. Global conglomerates have called the shots for decades, and
their overwhelming influence has distorted news journalism and compromised its
values. In highly revealing stories, renowned journalists, activists, and academics give insider accounts of
a broken media system. Controversial news reports are suppressed, people are
censored for speaking out, and lives are shattered as the arena for public
expression is turned into a private profit zone. Tracing the story of media
manipulation through the years, Shadows of Liberty poses a crucial question: why
have we let a handful of powerful corporations write the news?
tle temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." Gregory added, "We take heed of his warning and are therefore unwilling to relinquish our First Amendment protections—even in an airport."PM’s Compendium of Useful Resources

Tactical Firearms
Training Secrets
Between the cost of ammo, range time, (sometimes) fuel to get there and back, and the time that it takes to get stuff ready before hand and get stuff cleaned and lubed when you get done, it's hard for shooters to get as much trigger time as they know they need.

How
Stores Spy on You
You are being watched when
you shop, and that information can be matched with other data to help build a
profile of you. ShopSmart looks at the various ways we are all being tracked by stores, banks, and others. And now some stores
even have a "booty cam" in dressing rooms!
Video cameras record your
every move. Your face and car’s license plate are captured and filed in
searchable databases. Hidden cameras classify you by age, sex, and ethnicity,
and even detect your body language and mood. Even your bank
account records are being pried into.
The main goal of these surveillance methods, of course, is to get you to shop
more and spend more…
When
you're looking inexpensive tactical firearms training,
one of your best options is to pick up an airsoft gun.

The
Nanny State Updates… Americans
are fat n happy while their rights are trampled!
The
administration’s proposed 2013 budget shows that DHS will have to do with less:
the department $39 billion is $625
million less than the department’s2012 budget, and, in addition, the department
has committed to save an additional $1.3 billion by reducing administrative
costs. Among the big-ticket items in the new budget: $714 million for a
state-of-the-art animal disease lab; $494 million to fund research and
development in cybersecurity, explosives detection, and chemical/biological
response systems; and $221 million for 1,600 additional Border Patrol agents.
At last month’s Border Security Expo in Phoenix, both
start-ups and established companies showed off their inventions in an effort to
pitch projects to federal agencies. Two themes emerged in the show: the expo
demonstrated that many of the systems and weapons systems that were used in the
Iraq and Afghanistan wars are now becoming available to local, state, and
federal law enforcement agencies – and companies expressed concern about the
impact the federal budget cuts will have on their pockets.
The
Parting Thought- We are trapped
" In America, collectivism is what the government does to people to make them deaf, dumb, and blind, so the corporations can steal everything from them."
From the University of New Mexico Bureau of Business
and Economic Research...
Even if ALL U.S. citizens were taxed 100% of their income for an entire year... that's every penny, earned by every citizen in the entire country... it would still not be enough to pay off our debts. Not even close. We'd still be trillions of dollars short.
Even if ALL U.S. citizens were taxed 100% of their income for an entire year... that's every penny, earned by every citizen in the entire country... it would still not be enough to pay off our debts. Not even close. We'd still be trillions of dollars short.
We began the year 2013 with a net public debt that has
more than doubled since the year BEFORE Barack Obama took office. These
overwhelming public financial obligations are completely unprecedented in the
history of our country, outside of the two major global wars we fought in the
20th century.
When you add these other, genuine, federal obligations that exist right now, today, you come up with a total debt figure that's much more than $20 trillion. Far more than half of these debts were assumed under President Obama.
We are trapped. There is no way out.
And nobody in Washington – not Republicans, not Democrats, and not even Tea Partiers – want you to realize how precarious our government's finances really are. They can't afford for you to understand this dilemma... or what it means.
And nobody in Washington – not Republicans, not Democrats, and not even Tea Partiers – want you to realize how precarious our government's finances really are. They can't afford for you to understand this dilemma... or what it means.
As things stand
now, the U.S. government can't go broke in any ordinary sense of the word
because it can simply print dollars to pay for its bad debts. (It's been doing
so since March of 2009.)
Today, our government owes more money to more people than anyone else in the world.
In fact, Zha Xiaogang, a researcher at the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, recently said:
The shortcomings of the current
international monetary system pose a big threat to China's economy."
