Why do
Americans say men or women have it easier in the U.S.?
Far
more Americans say men have it easier in our country these days than say things
are easier for women (35% vs. 9%). A majority (56%) says there is no
difference. When those who say men or women have it easier are asked in
what ways this is so, most cite inequities rooted in the workplace…
Democrats are also
much more likely than Republicans to say that men have easier lives than women
these days: 49% of Democrats say this compared with 19% of Republicans. A
majority of Republicans (68%) say neither men nor women have it easier today
(compared with 45% of Democrats). Those who see an advantage for men often say
these inequities are rooted in the workplace.
Ed Note: Both parties have created many obstacles to
living well. Our tax system and
burdensome regulatory system which they’ve created has all but destroyed our
job creating machine, once the envy of the world.
