EMPTY STORE SHELVES

I’m not sure if you caught that full page ad that Tyson Foods placed in the NY Times (as well as other major newspapers).

The message was “The food supply chain is breaking down.”

Tyson foods is the largest chicken processor in the United States.

They had to close several of their largest plants as the workers contracted the COVID-19 virus.

It is astonishing that a private company would spend money in major newspapers to warn the American public.

This is so extraordinary that you should definitely take notice.

CHINA-OWNED Smithfield Foods is the largest pork processor in the US, and they too have had to shut down plants – including their largest one in South Dakota.

The overall goal of having an emergency food pantry is to have a wide array of nutritious foods stored away in order to carry us through an emergency.

Oats are one of the best plant-based proteins out there. And, because they are versatile, readily available, and cheap, they are a favorite for those stocking their prepper pantry.

What can you do to get prepared when all of the emergency supplies are sold out? Or what if you can’t afford emergency supplies but need to get ready for an emergency?

There are plenty of ways you can start preparing for the worst without spending money, and many survival supplies can be gathered or created from items you already own. Here’s a list of DIY survival gear that you can make from everyday items.

1. Homemade Hand Sanitizer - Washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds is the best way to remove germs, but if you can’t wash your hands, hand sanitizer is a good way to go. But with hand sanitizer flying off the shelves, it may be hard to get...

In a previous article that listed 16 ways to use oats, we highlighted different ways that oats can be used including how to make your own oat flour to use in smoothies and for gluten-free baking, making oat milk, a milk alternative (get the recipe here), and how to make a delicious oat pie crust (think granola) but we wanted to list a few more incredible ways to utilize oats in the pantry.

NOTE:  Last week I fell off a moving truck [transporting a fridge] and broke my left hand/wrist in two places, bruised a rib and jammed my thumb on the right hand.  It’s in a cast and painful; making typing and many others tasks very challenging.

It looks like there may be a light at the end of the tunnel. As governments realize the economic impact of the lockdowns, starving citizens are demanding to get back to work.

At least 33 states are looking to end lockdown orders around the end of April and beginning of May.

President Trump and VP Mike Pence announced a plan to slowly lift the lockdowns with a phased approach.

It's hard not to start asking the question: Are we being played?

Following yesterday's pimping of Gilead Science's antiviral drug remdesivir on scant and suspect results, it's hard not to start asking the question: Are we being played?

A Final Note…

Vaseline (the most popular brand name for petroleum jelly) is surprisingly useful when it comes to disaster preparedness and survival. As Sensible Prepper demonstrates in this video, there's at least a dozen survival uses for Vaseline.

Here's his list:

1.     Moisturize dry, chapped, and sunburned skin.

2.     Protect small wounds, scrapes, and cuts.

3.     Lubricate metal parts on tools and gear...

There are now 22.5 million unemployed Americans and the number is climbing every single day. Yet we are still bringing in refugees from foreign countries. The Department of Agriculture wants to bring in unlimited numbers of foreign workers at a time when we are facing near-record unemployment.

This has to stop. Now is the time for Americans to call for a full moratorium on immigration. You won’t believe the latest polling numbers that agree with this sentiment.

Thankfully we have a President in office that is not an American-hating globalist. Trump just declared he is stopping all immigration into America.

Polls already show an overwhelming support for Trump’s immigration ban. Check out the rising tide of American patriotism in this time of crisis.
