China’s plan to run the world-Topple America

China has made no secret of its “One Belt, One Road,” plan to make the 21st Century into the Chinese Century.  Its staggeringly massive development projects spanning dozens of countries include highways, rail systems and more. Its maritime naval resources now dwarf America and Great Britain.  Its projected trade for these ventures will exceed $2.5 trillion per year and will dominate the world – which is their goal.

Already 68 governments and international organizations are working with them to create “an ideological alternative” to the United States, the West, and liberalism. They wish to restore themselves to their former imperial glory as the center of the world – at our expense!

American consumers are spoiled by cheap goods usually made of inferior ingredients [think Walmart].  Wall Street traders are traditionally short term thinkers, rarely in it for the long haul despite telling investors the opposite.

Do you remember pet foods imported from China which nearly killed your dog?

Do you remember wall board imported from China used to rebuild homes in FL after hurricanes which showed black mold a few years later and had to be torn down at great expense?

Do you remember toys with lead made in China sold to American children?

Do you remember toothpaste with toxic chemicals sold to US consumers made in China?

Do you recall Chinese [government] hackers who stole US secrets from Boeing or who stole more than 500,000 names of government employees from federal databases [including those with Top Secret Security Clearances] during the Obama years?

Might you remember all of the high tech information former President Clinton literally gave to the Chinese during his years in office?

I could easily continue with the offenses of the Chinese directed at USA by China but it would require a book, yet…

MOST Americans continue to have their head buried in the sand when it comes to how China plans to conquer America. Their long-term goal is to replace the United States as top dog.   All citizens do is whine about how tariffs are jacking up prices at Walmart on their cheap toys.  Never mind how Apple continues to underwrite $20 a day pay scales for labor in China for its $1,000 I-Phones which Americans slobber over as if they were the Holy Grail of electronics.

One jerk on Twitter thought he was insulting me by telling my economics were a thing of the past, that I am an outdated student of the 1950s and that Globalists are the future – guess what my friend.  That trend is what is killing American jobs and making America less self-sufficient.

Do you remember when our own US Army purchased a million berets from China?  There was a sufficient uproar to demand the return of that purchase order and have them Made in America!  The same uproar ensued when our US Olympic Team initially placed an order for their team uniforms at a Chinese manufacturing concern…most Americans were outraged and they finally backed down and a placed new order with an American manufacturer for the clothing.

The United States, once known as “The Arsenal of Democracy” supplied the world with its industrial might.  Yes, we might need to pay higher prices for goods made in this country but that would mean we would employ MORE people here AND abroad due to raw materials we might need to import and…yes, more trained labor would have to be brought in! [Seems both political parties agree America needs more industrial type training vs. over-priced college degrees as I’ve written about in the past].

If that is considered backward thinking, I will stand by it.  Pres. Trump has made a significant effort at bringing jobs back to America and it shows among the auto industry workers [the unions will still likely support Democrats].  I know first-hand in our part of MI there are “Help Wanted” signs everywhere and the economy is buzzing.

Can we do better?  Of course, there is always room for improvement AND beating China is big ingredient to that solution.

Our intelligence community knows China is our biggest threat and the CIA makes the following required reading [I guarantee everyday citizens will never lift a finger to read this however]:

Unrestricted Warfare” the Chinese strategy to counter U.S. power- (translated by CIA ) lists Financial Warfare against the United States without firing a shot…

SIDEBAR:

Why it is ESSENTIAL the US BECOME SELF SUFFICIENT

A group of commodities we seldom think about — but are critical to modern life, and to U.S. military prowess.

“Rare earth elements,” they’re called. The name is a bit misleading, because these elements exist in relative abundance. There are 17 of these REEs, with funky names like dysprosium, neodymium and ytterbium.

These elements are essential for everything from your mobile phone... to TV screens... to wind turbines... to hybrid car batteries... to guided missile systems.

For a host of reasons we won’t get into today, China controls 90% or more of global rare earth production

Result: “Our military is 100% reliant on China for critical technology metals, alloys, magnets, garnets and other post-oxide rare earth materials…

Washington’s supply of “smart bombs” is nearly used up — thanks to the Obama administration’s relentless bombing campaigns in Syria. By the early days of the Trump administration in 2017, the Pentagon was drawing on its supplies stockpiled elsewhere around the world to keep up the pace.

Once these weapons are used up they can only be replaced if China decides to sells us these critical materials.

A U.S. war with Iran now will turn China’s already powerful rare earth trade-weapon into a terminal nuclear strike.

Withholding these materials would not just neuter our military during a conflict, it would shut down every automobile and aircraft manufacturer in the U.S. The shutdowns would extend to what remains of our electronics and green technology industries. It would be pink slips from coast to coast. China would fill the global demand gap.

Last Monday evening released a new list of about $300 billion in Chinese goods that President Trump has said he’s contemplating hitting with tariffs as high as 25%.  And, last week, the Trump raised tariffs to 25% from 10% on over $200 billion worth of Chinese products. China then retaliated on Monday by raising tariffs on about $60 billion of U.S. goods.

This means that prices will be going up on affected products that include many of the top sellers on sites like Amazon.

These will partially include:

·         Clothing & accessories (jewelry)

·         shoes (including sneakers)

·         Sporting Goods

·         electronics

·         Meat

·         Fish & seafood

·         Electronic accessories (Cellphone Cases, earbuds, Bluetooth).

·         Some chemicals

·         Bicycle helmets

·         and more

Retail analysts expect that brick and mortar stores will be the hardest hit with online shopping affected minimally –although they will be affected also –just to a somewhat lesser extent.  The reason is that online sellers have much lower overhead than traditional stores and can adjust prices more easily.

The tariff hikes will impact thousands of items, including consumer goods like furniture, luggage, seafood and handbags. Businesses will pay more for chemicals, telecom equipment, and plastics.

American businesses and consumers were paying $3 billion a month in higher import taxes by the end of last year, according to a study in March by economists from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Columbia University, and Princeton University.
"Tariffs are taxes, paid for by Americans consumers and businesses, not by China," said David French, vice president of government relations at the National Retail Federation.

So What Will I Pay More For?
Look for higher costs for school backpacks when back-to-school shopping begins.  [Hint: Use last years backpack or shop at a thrift store or use a hand-me-down to save money] If you're planning to remodel your home, higher tariffs on granite, marble, steel, lumber and other building materials will make that more expensive. The National Association of Home Builders estimates the duties will cost developers $2.5 billion a year.

Furniture, including bedroom and office furniture, will get hit, as well as refrigerators and freezers, air conditioners, handbags, baseball gloves, bicycles, and luggage. [Hint: Again, buy used at a thrift store]. Shrimp, tuna, fish sticks and many other types of sea food will also cost more.
About 80 percent of all luggage sold in the United States is from China, according to the U.S. Travel Goods Association. Most luggage and backpacks already face 17.6 percent duties and the extra tariffs will increase that to 42.6 percent, the trade group says.
Tiffany Williams, who owns The Luggage Shop in Lubbock, Texas, says most of the U.S. importers that she buys from quickly raised their prices 10 percent after the Trump administration first imposed 10 percent tariffs in late September. One vendor told her that they would raise their prices 25 percent immediately after Trump tweeted on Sunday his threat to lift tariffs to that level.
Williams has had to raise her prices as well, which has lowered sales, particularly for higher-priced brands such as Tumi and Briggs and Riley. Overall sales fell 8 percent during the winter holidays, she said, and she decided against hiring any seasonal employees, as she has in previous years.
"This has been a challenging time for our business," Williams said. Some vendors absorbed the 10 percent tariff hike and didn't pass on the cost, she said, but "I don't think anybody can eat an extra 15 percent."  Of course, how often do most of us buy luggage?
Also, your next new car may cost more. The duties have been imposed on $9.2 billion of auto part imports, according to the Peterson Institute for International Economics. Kristin Dziczek, a vice president at the Center for Automotive Research, calculates that the tariffs will raise the cost of U.S.-made cars by $190, most of which will likely be passed on to the consumer.
A study by the Trade Partnership , a consulting firm that works with the NRF, found that the duties will cost the average family of four $767 if they remain in place for at least a year.
When Will Prices Rise?
It could take a few weeks.
The tariffs are being applied to products that are shipped from China on Friday, but not before. It takes about three weeks for a large container ship to reach the United States from China, so the first goods to pay the tariff won't arrive until then.
That might even allow U.S. and Chinese negotiators to reach a last-minute deal that could allow the U.S. to rescind the tariffs before they really take effect.
Still, some companies will use the tariff announcement to start billing retailers right away, French said. Some of those costs could then be passed quickly to consumers.
Either way, prices across the huge $20 trillion U.S. economy won't move that much. A report by the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco in February said that Chinese tariffs imposed last year — 25 percent on $50 billion of imports, and the 10 percent on $200 billion — had lifted consumer prices by just 0.1 percentage point.

BUY AMERICAN RESOURCES

*For example:  We no longer support Levis which are now made in Mexico & is now anti-gun to the point where its CEO pays its workers to support anti-gun movements on company time!

The tariffs hit as the US and China are engaging in continued trade talks, and negotiations taking place in both the US and China.  Most Americans seem painfully unaware of how China is and has been screwing America for decades; only concerned with their ability to buy cheap goods and nont concerned whatsoever about our nation's ability to stand strong.
If this nation stands strong again and begins producing the majority of its goods, it will produce even more jobs!

>>>One should be prepared to buy alternative or Made in America products!

Here are my ideas for new bill [s] to improve government

>Since term limits never seems to gain any traction perhaps we should entertain the idea of zero pay for elected officials after their third term in office…give them their office, expenses, health insurance while in office and a living allowance only=much like our Founding Fathers and see how many decide to remain in office.

>Perhaps we need to resurrect a new version of ‘war’ bonds, perhaps calling them “government bailout bonds” to help pay off our national debt and/or to help pay for our massive deficits and proposed new spending projects since fewer foreign nations are buying our debt!

>An idea I've suggested before:  Eliminate ALL city/state & Federal taxes on the 1st $25K of income for all people. 41% of citizens pay no Federal tax, many city/state taxes are killers for many. Tax laws that encourage more US manufacturing/jobs & elimination of red tape would help too.

I too have felt China is our enemy & a big reason why we lost so many jobs. that said, it's hard to find goods in our retail shops that are produced here, especially at Walmart & Americans have become SPOILED. Ironically, the items you noted here are not 'must-have' & has indicated, can be purchased used at thrift shops or on-sale very frequently. It would take some time but if enough manufacturers worked at, we could again re-employ [even if that meant upping our borders to skilled labor] even more workers to make this nation more self sufficient again as you point out here. Every damned politician should read this piece!

Like the other writer-more politicians need to read this so they can focus their efforts on our real enemy instead of jerking Trump around!

Too many of us been blind to the consequences of our subsidizing China & allowing them to steal our tech and other secrets. Good article-frankly, I forgot about some of these items like the black mold.

So tired of misguided idiots on the Left in Congress who think by non-stop investigations they are accomplishing something-flotsom like Nasty Nadler who for decades has only fed at the public teat needs to retire or be rode out of town on a rail [or worse]...mainstream Americans are tired of this arrogant little prick who has never done a damn thing over the years to earn his salary-a pox on him and his minions!
