Being defeated is often a temporary condition.
Giving up is what makes it permanent.

How Prepared are you-Do you even care?

Natural disasters seem to have become more prevalent in recent years and our nation is essentially bankrupt. Financial events in Europe do not bode well for our economy either. Middle class jobs are vanishing and college grads are finding fewer decent jobs. Are you doing anything to prepare "just in case?"

This was part of a survey about “how prepared are you” which I conducted on a national polling site (sorry, thought about doing one among my subscribers but based on experience, I knew that the response would be neglible)…the majority of respondents were female and most fell into the middle of “somewhat prepared,” while roughly 40% stated they were “fully prepared.”  One guy said he wasn’t prepared at all and wasn’t concerned…’come what may’ was his attitude.

They were asked if they prepared as a result of the increase in natural disasters or because on an uncertain economy.  That was split down the middle.  The majority were in the age bracket of 50 years old and have been at it for three years or longer…that surprised me somewhat.  Some of the comments:

Mentally, but not physically. . . I am already living to the fullest of my financial means, so having a cushion is out of the question. . .

Financial  hell no.  Natural disaster, yes

I have put myself in a position where I can be self reliant if a worst - case scenario should ever happen.

All but one alluded to the extra expense involved in becoming prepared but felt the cost was worth it even if it took them longer.  Nearly 96% felt face book was the worst source for finding like minded folks for preparing (I second that).

The secret to juicier hamburgers:  Mix 1 cup plain yogurt and ¾ cup bread crumbs into each pound of meat.  The yogurt’s lactic acid will tenderize while the bread crumbs will retain its moisture.

Preppers are those who seek to understand what the rest of the public goes out of its way to ignore. They embrace the reality and inevitability of disaster, and suddenly, like magic, they are able to see its oncoming potential where others cannot (or will not). The price they pay for this extended vision, however, is high...

I see the prepper generation as a generation of sacrifice; men and women who must endure the collapse of the façade for the sake of an honorable future society they may not live to experience.

Independence, self sustainability, true community, and redundancy in systems; it's all in a day's work for the prepper. But, one thing tends to sit upon our minds above all else, and that subject is ‘home'. Not necessarily the home where we are, but the home where we will shelter during darker days. Call it a retreat, call it a bunker, call it whatever you like, but every prepper has to have that place set aside that gives him the utmost advantage while facing off against calamities that normally annihilate average people.

Property Placement

You may be searching for a homestead property or a more discreet retreat area for only the most violent disasters. In either case, property placement should be your number one concern. Where is your subject property located? What are the strengths and weaknesses, economically, socially, and legally, in the state you are considering. What is the disposition of the government and law enforcement in the county your retreat resides in? What kind of environment are you surrounding yourself with? These are all very important issues to consider.

Even more important, though, are the dynamics of the land you are choosing. Are you looking for a typical flat piece of developed farmland with easy access to roads and town amenities? Then you are going about this all wrong. Are you purchasing a cabin in the woods where you and your family will be isolated and alone.

Small pole-barn plans that are designed to look like traditional American farm barns and carriage houses. You might use one as your garage, workshop, horse barn or storage building.

All of the blueprints come with a variety optional shed-roof structures for the sides and back of the main barn or garage.  You can customize them too.

Using the Law to Protect Your Political Privacy

Many deluded individuals harbor illusions about the true nature of the State and its creative marketing tactics involving laws to protect political privacy

Political privacy has always been a concern in civilized countries. Despite the massive fraud that modern governments are voters should feel that they have the right to vote however they wish without their votes being made public. Politicians should not be given the right to know how each individual has voted. There have been many examples in the past where sociopath politicians, the usual kind, have used such information to genocide their opposition.

www.doomsday-learn-prepare-survive.com is sponsoring the First Reno Nevada Doomsday Preppers' Convention and Expo. It is going to be held Thursday June 28 through Saturday June 30. During this convention, preppers will have the opportunity to display their products and take advantage of a variety of lectures on doomsday prep. Attendees will have the opportunity to gather new ideas and products from other venders. Lunch will be provided on Saturday and the other days are your responsibility. Discount food is available for purchase at the Cal-Neva. This is the perfect opportunity for individuals to show off their talents, products and explain their beliefs to other venders and the public.

Save on beer – usually goes on sale on Wednesday or Sunday or visit SaveOnBrew.com and enter your zip code for a list of beer sales near you.

The Nanny State Updates…

Destroying America- one less job at a time…

In the old days, a college education was almost a guaranteed ticket to the middle class.

But these days, a college education guarantees you absolutely nothing.

As the number of middle class jobs has steadily declined in recent years, the number of low paying service jobs has increased.

Today, you can find hordes of very smart, very talented Americans flipping burgers, waiting tables and welcoming people to Wal-Mart.

Sadly, the United States now has a higher percentage of workers doing low wage work than any other major industrialized nation does.

Perhaps we should applaud our leaders for doing such a great job of destroying the American Dream.

A recent WND article reported, the WTO has a solution. They plan to replace "Made in China" labels with "Made in the World" labels so that we don't feel so bad about losing our jobs and our economic infrastructure...

The World Trade Organization is moving closer to eliminating country-of-origin labels and replacing them with “Made in the World” initiative labels because they say we need to “reduce public opposition to free trade” and “re-engineer global governance.”

It seems that corporations have taken a specific line of attack - offering record pay to CEOs and laying off hourly workers. This trend seems to be continuing.

Buy buns in bulk at warehouse clubs but if you don’t have or want a membership, try BakeryOutlets.com to find a store near you which are usually a $1 per bag less.

The Ultimate “F” Word -  FAIL

After editing this newsletter for several years, it is easy to see why so many people fail…they’re too busy wasting time on TV and other unproductive activities, they seldom examine their own lives.

Reason #1: People don’t take action. OK, this sounds obvious. Surely we all know that we have to take action in order to get somewhere. Even so, you would not believe how many people who sit there and wonder why their life doesn’t go the way they want it.  Often, we don’t know what action to take.

Here are some questions to consider: If you had already achieved your goal, what actions would you have taken to get there? What do you feel inspired to do right now? Will this action I’m considering benefit me and/or my business?

Reason #2: People are afraid. They might be afraid of failure, or of success. And sometimes they are afraid of both.

Usually when we are afraid to go for our goals, it is because of a belief we have about what it means to achieve it, or to go for it and not quite make it.

So the solution is to be honest about the truth of the situation. Ask yourself questions that give you a different perspective: What am I really afraid of?

Reason #3: People have poor mental programming. Think of yourself like a computer – whatever you put in affects what you get out. As you set goals and think about achieving them and the actions required to achieve them, what thoughts are you “putting in”? What is the internal dialogue you have running? What do you imagine will happen?

All of these things – thoughts, words, and your imagination – affect your real results.

Reason #4: People’s environments don’t make success automatic. Most of us have been taught to use willpower to get ourselves to do what needs to be done. While that can work short term, it is also draining and doesn’t usually sustain the change or action.

Further “self destruct” patterns often seen…

Lack of self-belief – When you are constantly telling yourself you can’t, couldn’t, don’t deserve, or whatever, then you get what you think. You either have to believe you can, or at least suspend disbelief!

Blamestorming  if you look at the business world and around social media, how many people are using similar excuses. It’s not me, it is … fill in the blanks. Only you can do the things that are required to change your situation.

Sheep versus Shepherd - So you need to take advice, and take advice from the right people, but all too often we see people get taken in by people who do not have your best interests at heart.

Failure to Execute - Often, we brainstorm what feels like a good idea, but never implement or plan further action.  “Oh, stockpiling some extra food would be a good idea, but I’m short of cash this week, so I’ll get around to that next paycheck.”

Finally, success rewards those who don’t give up.  As they say, ‘chance rewards the prepared mind.’

Most Americans are too dumb to 'worry' about the future of the country or their survival. Good advice on the F word.
