Another
Day of Freedom
About half the people I meet seem to understand that the US is now the USSA. After being told by a cop or another slave not to do something like smoke a cigarette outside I'll usually say, "it's hard to handle all this freedom." Half the people nod and quietly say "what freedom?" while looking around for surveillance cameras or undercover cops.
The other half are slow to realize that they don't live in anything even close to the land of the free. But, slowly, everyday, more wake up. It's hard not to when you see the daily occurrences happening here. Just read this accounting of another day of freedom in the US from The Daily Caller:
"A University of Virginia student spent a night and good
part of the next day in jail after seven plain-clothes agents from the state’s
Alcoholic Beverage Control division ambushed her. The student,
20-year-old Elizabeth Daly, made the mistake of walking to her car with bottled
water, cookie dough and ice cream in a dark supermarket parking lot near the
UVA campus, reports The Daily Progress. The seven agents sprung
aggressively into action, suspecting that the student was carrying was a
12-pack of beer. She was actually carrying a sky-blue carton of LaCroix
sparkling water. Police admit that one of the high-strung agents vaulted onto
the hood of Daly’s car. She contends that one of them also drew a gun.
It’s not clear what about Daly’s appearance gave the six police officers
the belief that they had probable cause to confront her en masse."
The funny/sad part of that story is the girl's reaction. After being accosted by a roving gang of thugs and, rightfully, wanting to escape, the only thing she could think of to do was to call 911

We must be willing to assume some risks and errors-in-judgement to protect our freedom. One could argue the people are “safer” but at what cost? The truth is that they are relatively safe from everyone but their government. Their freedom is the cost they have paid for this illusion of safety and it is the same price we will pay if we continue to believe that arresting us for petty offenses, spying on us and collecting all of our personal information is being done for our own good.
Feeling secure is not the same as being secure!
We would be wrong to give an alcoholic a drink by the same token, we should not continue to feed government’s addiction to hoarding our most personal and sensitive information including our basic rights..Starve the Beast!

Beating
the Bureaucrat (within an inch of their life)…
The Lemonade Freedom group knows that the ridiculous regulations need to be
taken seriously. In August 2011, the group set up a lemonade stand on public
land in DC and proceeded to sell lemonade for 10 cents a glass. It was done to
protest a wave of police actions in state after state to close down children's
lemonade stands because they were unlicensed. Lemonade Freedom declared, “The
lemonade stand is one of the great symbols of entrepreneurialism. When a child
opens a lemonade stand, that child is learning how to operate a business, how
to provide a product, and how to be a productive member of society all while
having fun.”
In 2011, ten police officers descended on the DC lemonade stand. They closed down the operation, they arrested and handcuffed three people, and attacked a camera man. Again, the justification was the lack of a license. In 2012, mothers and sellers of raw milk joined Lemonade Freedom Day in protest of regulation and to celebrate “right to voluntary exchange.” The police were prudently absent.
A magician named Marty Hahne has
been grappling with the U.S. Department of Agriculture for years now. At issue?
During his act, Hahne pulls a three-pound rabbit out of a top hat. He updated
the situation as of late June, “My USDA rabbit license requirement has taken
another ridiculous twist. I just received an 8-page letter from the USDA,
telling me that by July 29 I need to have in place a written disaster plan,
detailing all the steps I would take to help get my rabbit through a disaster,
such as a tornado, fire, flood, etc.” Hahne and his wife must be specially
trained to implement the rabbit plan, which USDA inspectors will review. Supporters of the magician suggest the plan should consist of a tag
attached to the rabbit's collar which reads, “In case of disaster, kill, cook,
eat.”
The right to voluntary exchange is the right to life itself because it gives people the ability to feed themselves, and this is the basis of all other freedoms.
Traditional civil liberties such
as freedom of speech, freedom of religion ultimately rest on an individual's
ability to exercise the right of economic ownership over his or her own body.
To attack economic rights is to attack civil liberties.
It is not funny when police with guns close
down a 4-year-old's lemonade stand. It is damned frightening…almost as
frightening is the seeming lack of concern by most citizens!
