Taxpayers Subsidize a Never Ending Cycle of Poverty, Gangs, Violence

 

   WHEN and where I was growing up in the 50s and 60s just about everyone was lower class economically.  We wore hand-me-down clothes which my mother repaired, played with used toys and we actually walked to school and everyone in our neighborhood knew each other.  That might be due to the fact that every mother at the time stayed at home to rear their children [and to keep them out of trouble]. 

 

When I attended high school, boys could not have facial hair, piercings, blue jeans that were torn or ripped or even long hair.  The religious schools in our area ‘forced’ their students to wear uniforms and had a zero tolerance policy back then for bad behavior [and it worked].  Ironically, as soon as dress standards were reduced in our community, behavior standards declined also.

 

During WWII our nation saw many women head into the work force for the first time in order to aid the war effort.  Grandmothers or aunts often became the caregivers of children then, not daycare centers.  When so many men didn’t return from the war, many women remained in the work force some out of choice, some out of necessity.  As our government’s appetite for money and taxes grew and as the credit boom started allowing people to “enjoy” a more upscale Middle Class lifestyle which included a housing boom, more women joined the workforce to enable this lifestyle.

 

Soon corporate America began transferring Dad to different parts of the country and this migration began another cultural challenge:  families began to lose touch and children ultimately were starting to be raised by schools, video games/computers, daycare and other non-related authority figures whose authority was often undermined by the interference of lawyers such as the ACLU and related groups, thus undermining parental authority even more.

 

Then the medical community began to prescribe psychotropic drugs as a fix for everything, especially to “over-energetic” little boys.  Schools relied on drugs and reduced the number of hours spent in the gym for overactive boys…all with very little research as to the long term effects of such drugs.

 

Hollywood next played a role in further reducing the “old morality” by saying it was OK to have out-of-wedlock children; indeed, it became a badge of honor among Hollywood lesbians and others to showcase their defiance of conventional morality and it wasn’t long before single parent families became the norm – no social stigma attached nor any concern about who was going to support these [often multiple births to multiple fathers] children…let’s place the burden on the taxpayer!

 

Out of wedlock births are skyrocketing.

One Family's Story Shows How The Cycle Of Poverty Is Hard To Break

 

 Growing up in Cleveland it was common to seen newscasts of so-called “welfare queens’ being led to jail by police for bilking the system for welfare and food stamp fraud.  These welfare mothers would claim multiple babies by multiple fathers in order to collect larger amounts of food stamps [which were converted to cash on the black market] and other benefits. 

 

It was and is a lucrative industry and one reason why so many enter this nation illegally as they know they can collect nearly unlimited benefits using their child’s Social Security number to collect benefits.  For decades many citizens groups have asked Congress to stop offering automatic citizenship to so-called “anchor babies” and to put the brakes on unlimited handouts to multiple out-of-wedlock children.

 

As some have said, “One is a mistake, two is a way of life.”  We should not subsidize multiple out-of-wedlock births.  Those who work in the welfare offices would be out of work so they are against these changes but they’ll be the first to tell you that having minor children is the KEY to obtaining welfare benefits including ADC, Section 8 Housing, Food Stamps, utility help, free medical insurance, dental insurance for children, and more.

 

The Pope may have told the flock to go forward and multiply, but not at the expense of the taxpayer…if you can’t afford children, don’t produce them!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Desiree Metcalf's story is heartbreaking, but among the 46 million Americans who are poor today, her story is not unique.

Metcalf is 24 years old.

She's the mother of three little girls — ages 6, 4 and 2. They all have different fathers.

"That about sums me up, I think," she says.

Metcalf is sitting on the floor of her two-bedroom apartment in the small town of Bath, in western New York. A fish tank gurgles in the background. A tiny kitten peeks out from under the furniture. Her youngest daughter is curled up under a blue blanket, head resting on her mother's lap.

Metcalf got married two years ago to a man who isn't the father of any of her children, but he recently left her for someone else.

Welfare Breeds Welfare and is Generational

 

 

Metcalf did not just become poor. A lot of bad things happened to get her there. Like many others who are poor, she doesn't have just one or two problems, but a whole pile of them.

She was raised by a single mother, who was also poor. Metcalf says they didn't always get along. And things came to a head when she was 12 years old.

Like many before her, she carried her poverty into adulthood, doing odd jobs with periods of homelessness and hunger. But more disturbing is that poverty is now starting to take its toll on her children, especially her eldest daughter. Metcalf says she recently tried to run away from home in the middle of the night.

Gang Violence Mounts is a Growing Cancer

 

   Some in the media like to paint the picture that our government, President Trump in particular, has exaggerated the problems of gangs in the United States.  However, FBI crime stats bear this out and several documentaries have indicated the growth of Central American and Mexican gangs throughout the United States and our jail populations of Hispanic gang members have skyrocketed in the past two decades.

 

The Los Angeles Police force has an entire team dedicated to eliminating this disease from their streets.

 

The poverty which attracts third world people to our nation also acts as a natural magnet to gangs and the lack of jobs for unskilled teens is a natural recruiting tool for gang leaders in their efforts to sell drugs and other contraband.

Your tax dollars subsidize their lifestyle whether their status is legal or not because our politicians are too stupid to cut off their source of FREE taxpayer funding which pays for everything from subsidized housing to medical care to schooling and food stamps.

As the song from the musical West Side Story plays Everything’s Free in America and our ‘anchor baby’ policy promotes illegal entry into the United States…in CA there are groups who actively provide assistance to illegals showing them how to grab welfare goodies.  Unlike the Netherlands which prohibit ANY kind of welfare in the first year to immigrants, the USA lays out a silver platter laden with enough free services and cash that people come here in droves including gang members to take advantage of taxpayer largess.

That's the motto for Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13, a transnational criminal organization dubbed “the most dangerous gang in the world.” The gang was formed in the ‘80s and has its roots in the fertile gang soil of Los Angeles. MS-13 is predominantly made up of Salvadoran immigrants who sought refuge in the United States during their civil war, and is known for horrendous acts of violence throughout Central and North America. Members prefer machetes and knives to guns, as such weapons make a kill more personal and agonizing. Above all else, members of Mara Salvatrucha are best known for their tattooed faces, a sign of loyalty that scares the sh*t out of people.

 

MS-13 originated with a flood of young, often illegal immigrants to the United States in the ‘80s. There's evidence the gang started even earlier, in the '70s, with the punk rock and heavy metal scenes, but the gang as it's known today began with the Diaspora of refugees who fled El Salvador during a bloody civil war. Between 1980 and 1990, the population of Salvadoran immigrants in the US increased from 94,000 to 465,000. Many settled in the Los Angeles area.

A lot of these immigrants were young men who grew up around violence, so naturally gravitated towards it. When they arrived in LA, they were thrown into a system of established Latin (mostly Mexican) gangs, where they weren't welcome; they had to prove themselves as a force to be reckoned with. The word “mara” is a Central American term for gang, “salva” comes from El Salvador, and “trucha” is slang for clever. The term salvatrucha is historically used to described peasants trained as guerilla fighters. 

MS-13 is not a homogenous group, but is broken into cliques united under a transnational identity. The gang is believed to have started in Pico-Union, adjacent to downtown Los Angeles, though many cliques existed in the greater LA area in the early '90s. Among the first was La Fulton, which began in 1991 in the San Fernando Valley. Its leader’s nickname was Satan. La Fulton was fighting for control of the area with more than 75 other gangs. Eventually, they made an alliance with the Mexican mafia and their notoriety grew throughout the city.
