If Sanctuary State CA Won’t Cooperate With ICE, It Should Refuse ALL Federal Funds
Like most greedy self centered people or in this case, a state, they want things both ways. In this case, CA wants to grab all forms of tax handouts and subsidies from Washington but it refuses to cooperate with ICE preventing local police to hand over illegal immigrants, even those who have committed crimes, to federal law enforcement.
This is in violation of federal law and will likely head to the Supreme Court. CA prohibits employers from cooperating ICE on working-place raids conducted without a warrant…putting employers in a tight spot as they must comply with both state and federal law.
States however cannot exercise direct oversight over federal personnel and agencies, which CA has unsuccessfully attempted and ironically, CA is likely to lose this fight due to a precedent set by the Obama administration when it sued Arizona in 2012 over state laws targeting illegal aliens, the Supreme Court ruled that states cannot undermine federal immigration policy. Now that roles are reversed, both sides hold different perspectives of federalism.
It is my view that Washington should withhold all federal dollars from CA or if CA had any integrity, it should refuse to accept any monies from Washington…we know that will never happen as the state is broke due to its inability to manage its budget from its massive welfare system.
Ironically, however progressive CA progressives and its elected representatives tell the world they might be, in reality they are hypocrites when it comes to their support of Louis Farrakhan, the Nation of Islam leader who has proclaimed his anti-Semite stance for decades and has railed against homosexuals and transgender people while demanding that women stay home and cook for their men!
Progressive organizers apparently have a soft spot for lunatic minister which includes Tamika Mallory, one of the leaders of the nationwide Women’s March against President Trump in 2017. Mallory recently attended Farrakhan’s annual Saviours’ Day conference, during which he declared that “times up” for the “satanic Jew.” In the ensuing uproar, Mallory has refused to explicitly denounce Farrakhan, saying instead that the “Black community is complex” – double-speak for ‘get out of my face.’
Mallory has praised Farrakhan several times over the years, as have her fellow Women’s March leaders Carmen Perez and Linda Sarsour.
Progressives who denounce bigotry on the Right need to start by cleaning their own house.
No social justice movement should have anything to do with a man who once praised Adolf Hitler as a “very great man.”
Hypocricy runs rampant among Democrats.

You're right about CA-they are two-faced jerks who are always broke as they give away millions in welfare to illegals and others [LA has the largest Hispanic population outside of Mexico City & 40% of them are on welfare and/or have gang affiliations] which is why so many taxpayers have moved out of the state-U-Haul said more people leave San Fran than any other city in the USA.
2. Love your contest idea but judging from the feedback you get [not just you but many prepper sites] you may be better off using eBay and helping disabled vets which is something you've done a lot for over the years.

According to a new AMAC survey, immigration reform [read-dealing with illegals] should be the administration's top focus in coming session. It is long overdue as they've been milking the system of freebies for decades. Every study I've read indicates they suck out more in welfare than they pay in AND they send a boatload of cash back to Mexico and Central America which doesn't help our economy one bit.
