Calling all sellers,” reads an email I received this morning from Etsy. “Start making masks if you can.”

I’ll show you the email in a moment.

As you know, we’re facing incredible uncertainty, not just in the financial economy (but in the real one, too)…

There are two main reactions in the face of such rabid uncertainty:

1] Trample all over liberties, snitch on your neighbors, treat everyone like a criminal, and make things WAY worse (calm down, Karen)…

2] Or adapt to the situation, be kind, protect yourself and your family, lead by example, promote personal responsibility, respect personal choice, promote self-sufficiency, and “do good by doing good”...

Only one of these options will help us get through this crisis in a productive way…

Which brings us to the subject of today (and tomorrow’s) episode:

Potentially the most important side-hustle of the year: spreading self-sufficiency.

Before we get to how you can do that, however, let’s talk about that email I received this morning from Etsy.

“Start Making Masks If You Can!”

In yesterday’s episode, we showed you a few side-hustles you could start in response to the virus crisis.

We also said this:

The #1 side-hustle right now, at this moment, is to make fabric masks.

(Recap: A couple weeks back, one woman in my neighborhood posted on social media that she was making masks. In less than a week, she got 405 local requests. Within a few mile radius!)

Well, this morning I got a panting email from Etsy calling for all hands on deck.

They also provided resources to help you get started:

·         Per the email:

·         “As Etsy sellers, you know how important it is to adjust quickly to changing buyer needs. Right now, Etsy has become a destination for fabric face masks, which is leading to skyrocketing demand. While we don't know how long this spike will last, we know that we're on-track to exhaust available inventory.

·         “That’s where you come in. This is a moment for the Etsy seller community to come together, meet this unprecedented need, and help those around them. If you have the skill and materials, you can help–start making masks today.”

·         For several obvious reasons, people in your neighborhood would probably rather buy a mask from YOU than from someone on Etsy.

·         Which is why, right now, if you’re stuck at home, this is a great way to “do good by doing good.”

·         (See yesterday’s episode for the details on how to market your masks locally… and test the waters before you start... plus, how to find other side-hustle opportunities in your area.)

·         Etsy’s urgent email this morning is a perfect example of how the market can quickly adapt to its own needs.

·         Just imagine if our health officials had given proper guidance on masks back in January… rather than cracking down on price-gouging and irrationally telling the public, “Masks don’t work.”

·         People would’ve been making them back then…

·         And there’s no doubt in my mind it would’ve helped slow the spread, perhaps in a tremendous way.

·         Indeed, this is the difference between voluntary participation (and trusting the public with the truth) and government idiocy.

·         Families are getting absolutely decimated…

·         Economies are getting crushed…

·         To add to the insanity, local governments are making their (dumb) mandatory shutdowns as miserable as possible for their subjects.

·         For example, a paddleboarder was arrested in Malibu because of “social distancing rules”...

·         In a sane world, he would’ve been commended.

Some of you might be thinking, “I’m a prepper, I won’t have to scavenge for supplies. I already have everything I need.” Maybe, maybe not. Even if you’ve been prepping for years, it’s still possible you forgot a few things. But even if you didn’t forget anything, you could still end up in a situation where you need something you never thought you’d need.

What if you have to take in a pregnant woman or a parent with a small child? You may have to go looking for baby formula. What if your mother’s prescription medications are lost or destroyed? You may have to go looking for replacement meds. What if a crucial piece of gear is damaged? What if you need parts for your shelter or vehicle?

These are just a few possibilities off the top of my head. There are dozens of situations you won’t think of until you’re in them...

Make a Biogas Generator to Produce Your Own Natural Gas

Transform grass clippings, food waste and livestock manure into renewable biogas energy with a homemade biogas generator.

You can use many household organic “waste” materials to produce your own natural gas for cooking, lighting, and space and water heating. This gas, known as “biogas,” can also replace fossil-based natural gas to fuel an engine or an absorption cooling system, such as a gas refrigerator or chiller. Some gasoline engines are designed for or can be modified for use with natural gas, propane or biogas. Diesel engines can accept up to 80 percent biogas.

Too many alerts to mention here. I have a podcast posting today, 30 minutes in duration, with emergency details about the collapsing food supply lines and financial infrastructure.

NYC under lockdown. Italy declares martial law. Dr. Cottrell warns 6.9 million Americans will die, recommends preparing for 18 months of disruptions.

Calif. Gov. Newsom warns 25.5 million could be infected in 8 weeks, over 500,000 could die if lockdowns don't work. Hospitals to be completely overrun. Today the UK ran out of hospital beds.

Also today: The CDC had advanced knowledge of all this, began hiring quarantine managers last November, to cover "pandemic emergency preparedness" expansion for NY, NJ, Texas, California and Washington.

Stay ahead of the curve or you will lose everything as the global financial reset accelerates. Check for my upcoming podcast later today, top right column of NN home page.

Take The Final Survival Plan

The LA County Sheriff is named Alex Villanueva.

He’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer as you’re about to see…

A few days ago, he said that gun stores were non-essential businesses and that he was going to force all gun stores to close down.

At the same time, he said he had released 1,700 inmates from the jail to help stop the spread of the virus.

I think someone needs to teach the Sheriff what irony means.

First, he says gun stores are non-essential.

So, the Second Amendment and the right to protect your family aren’t essential? But, the marijuana store down the road is?

And, with 1,700 more criminals fresh out of jail on the streets, it’s definitely a “good idea” to make sure people can’t buy guns and protect themselves.
