No Clear Solutions for Mass Shootings
But Dems will rant
anyhow, many, stupidly enough, even blaming the President for these incidents
[despite the fact more deaths occurred during the Obama years] This is akin to
blaming AAA for auto accidents.
Like clockwork, after
every single horrific attack the anti-gun crowd and their allies in the media
waste no time in renewing their calls for more of the same failed gun control
policies that only serve to embolden criminals.
What is
going on here?
9 people dead and 27 injured after the mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio on the 3rd.
Just a few hours earlier on the same day, a man named Patrick Crusius went on a killing rampage in a Walmart in El Paso, Texas. He killed 20 people and wounded 26.

Awful. Disgraceful.
Disgusting. Sickening.
Yes. All of the
above.
But quick jumps to scapegoating and knee-jerk reactions for the government to “do something,” of which are already emerging from all corners of the political and pundit class, are, and always have been, wrongheaded.

The
Dayton shooter, as reported by Heavy.com, “was a self-described ‘leftist,’ who
wrote that he would happily vote for Democrat Elizabeth Warren, praised Satan,
was upset about the 2016 presidential election results, and added, ‘I want
socialism, and I'll not wait for the idiots to finally come round to
understanding.’”
This is horrific.
Even alarming.
It’s like the next mass shooting could just as easily happen in your town, while you’re out grocery shopping or enjoying a drink at your favorite bar.
And it’s easy to feel hopeless and helpless.
After all, we don’t know what causes mass shootings.
People on the left blame the guns and your right to own them. They say you shouldn’t have access to “assault rifles” and “military-grade weapons.”
As if guns act of their own free will. Or owning one will turn you into a murderer.
People on the right will blame gun-free zones. After all, 98% of mass shootings have occurred in gun-free zones since 1950.
But that only gives shooters the opportunity…
It doesn’t tell us the motive.
Still others point to the over-prescription of antidepressants. It seems a majority of mass shooters were taking drugs such as Prozac and Zoloft which are well-known for potentially causing hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, and depression, ironically.
But this explanation also falls short.
Tens of millions are prescribed antidepressants every year and don’t go on mass shooting sprees.
My theory?
Culture, government, economic instability, deteriorating liberties, and the individual shooters themselves are all to blame. That includes gun-free zones and over-prescription of antidepressants.

Those on
the Left will lay the blame on Trump or the NRA – infinitely stupid conclusions
as they might as well blame Smirnoff for drunk driving deaths or hold AAA
accountable for car accidents when in reality Blame lies squarely on the
shoulder of the shooter, driver or drinker…even though everyone knows you
cannot legislate morality or mental health, they’ll continue stupid blame games
and band=aid, knee-jerk reactions and solutions.
For 200
years American families have owned guns with few problems. What’s different today is that we have more
nut cases due to any number of reasons: disintegration of family units, drugs
[both legal and illegal], media & games which focus on violence, etc.
SIDEBAR
Here are my
ideas for new bill [s] to improve government…
>Since term limits never
seems to gain any traction perhaps we should entertain the idea of zero pay for
elected officials after their third term in office…give them their office,
expenses, health insurance while in office and a living allowance only=much
like our Founding Fathers and see how many decide to remain in office.
>Perhaps
we need to resurrect a new version of ‘war’ bonds, perhaps calling them
“government bailout bonds” to help pay off our national debt and/or to help pay
for our massive deficits and proposed new spending projects since fewer foreign
nations are buying our debt!
>An idea I've suggested before: Eliminate ALL
city/state & Federal taxes on the 1st $25K of income for all people. 41% of
citizens pay no Federal tax, many city/state taxes are killers for many. Tax
laws that encourage more US manufacturing/jobs & elimination of red tape
would help too.

As the name suggests, the most vital
aspect of being a prepper is being prepared at all times. Unfortunately, many people who are
fully prepared to deal with a disaster at home don’t give much thought to how
they will deal with a disaster while they are away.
While it may not be possible to carry a
full stockpile of survival supplies with you everywhere, there are a number of
easy-to-carry items that could prove incredibly useful in a disaster situation.
Below, we’ll take a look at 10 everyday-carry (EDC) items that you should have
on you at all times.
1. Lighter - The ability to start a
fire is something that can be incredibly valuable in a disaster scenario. While
carrying a lighter is much more essential in a wilderness environment than it
is in an urban environment, a lighter is still something worth carrying with
you everywhere. It’s a small item that won’t take up much space, and it’s
something that can be lifesaving in certain situations...

Many good points here. Society has emasculated young men and so many are unemployed or under employed, they have lower testosterone levels, less ambition, given to violent video games, over prescribed psychotropic drugs, single parent families without guidance of fathers, other role models such as the Boy Scouts seem to be evaporating, etc. Is it any wonder we see this and high suicide rates?
Well said & accurate
