I Live in an RV Year-Round-What
It’s Really Like
|
You don’t have to wait until you retire to
“live the dream.” This 20-something
couple is already doing it…
My husband Wes and
our two dogs have spent several years living in an RV—calling a 24-foot
Winnebago home and driving it all around the United States. More recently, we
transitioned to an even smaller van-type RV (the 38-foot Allegro Bus, shown
above), where we plan to live during much of the hurricane season, then spend
the rest of the time living on a sailboat.

Strategic
Relocation
Would you be better off in a different house,
community, city or state?
One of the most frequent questions we get from people
working to become more resilient is: Is
there a better place I should move to?
Answering this question isn’t
simple.
First you need to to determine what
selection criteria are important to your decision-making and prioritize them
according to your specific personal requirements and goals. Then you need a
region-by-region evaluation that enables you to identify potential “good fit”
options.
This process can be overwhelming
for most folks starting from scratch. Which is why turning to a time-tested
guide to this process can be a tremendously valuable resource.
There aren’t that many out there. The best one we know
of that’s still in print is Strategic Relocation by Joel Skousen.
This 350-page encyclopedic work
specifies the key metrics to focus on in the relocation process and evaluates
and scores the major regions of North America on each.

Best Time to Buy: An Annual Calendar of Bargains
Growing up as a kid, MrConsumer always knew that linens went on sale in January during white sales, and that August was the best time to buy summer clearance clothes at Boston's famed Filene's Basement. With sales now running 365 days a year, good deals can pop up anytime, but this calendar of bargains by the month may help help focus your search.

I keep thinking about selling my home & becoming an RV 'road pirate'...even though I'm now old enough & have enough money, I've not worked up the cajones to do it yet.
Great variety of freebies-thanks. Would love to someday take off in an RV and see America [there's so much to see in this great land].
Very useful-of course, we like FREE [& we're not socialists!]
