National gun grab, paid for by your taxes

Do you know why President Biden and the establishment Republicrats want mass illegal immigration? Because third-world immigrants are more accepting of gun control and the police state. They have no understanding of or experience with individual liberty or the concept of natural rights. They are attracted to cradle-to-grave nanny state socialism because it is what they know and all they have known.

Add these to the nanny state dependents that have been created over the last several decades and you have a fertile hunting ground to kill off gun rights without one shot being fired by a lawful gun owner.

How else would the new omnibus spending bill have passed the Senate with so many egregious anti-gun provisions? Gun Owners of America points out, "Of the 12 gun control items hidden in the omnibus, these are among the most egregious:

• Massive 14.1 percent ATF budget increase to facilitate Biden's Pistol ban

• 50 percent increase for the ATF part of the budget that maintains the illegal near-billion record gun registry

• $700+ million in funding available to bribe states to pass "Red Flag" Gun Confiscation Laws

• Money for anti-gun CDC research while the agency suppresses self-defense statistics ."

Worse, the new year is only a few days old and the anti-gunners' hunting ground is being papered over with so-called "news" articles about all the guns being sold, and all the "gun deaths" we're supposedly experiencing. The truth is "guns sold" increases are largely because of population increases (sales only go up slightly with news events and then go back to normal) and gun crimes are not more prevalent, they are just reported on more by the people who want to influence your opinion.

Remember that one of the planks of "gradualism" is to control guns and weaponry; to cultivate in the public a fear of guns by promoting the idea that guns are dangerous. Then to inflate gun accidents and gun incidents in the nationwide media. Sensationalizing the negative is always useful.

Even so, the lamestream media and gun-grabbers' main argument, parroted by the president, is that you can't resist the government with your guns — even as they call those same guns "military-style" weapons and "weapons of war."

They can't even keep up with their own propaganda.

They also ignore how the Taliban fought the U.S. military to a standstill for decades and regained power using some of these same weapons.

Remember the "Fast and Furious" gun-running scandal under President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder? It armed drug cartels, and those weapons have been used in numerous crimes including the murder of American border agents and the robbery and murder of American citizens in the U.S.

The National Security Agency was responsible, under National Security Director Samuel Berger, for the transfer of weapons secrets to communist Red China in exchange for Clinton-Gore-Democratic Party campaign cash. When will those "weapons of war" be used against us?

We arm our "enemies" and disarm our citizens. Tell me again who the enemy of government is.

Friends with guns

Meanwhile, a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention commissioned by President Obama found that the defensive use of guns by crime victims is a common occurrence, although the exact number remains disputed (Cook and Ludwig, 1996; Kleck, 2001a). Almost all national survey estimates indicate that defensive gun uses by victims are at least as common as offensive uses by criminals, with estimates of annual uses ranging from about 500,000 to more than 3 million (Kleck, 2001a), in the context of about 300,000 violent crimes involving firearms in (BJS, 2010).

On the other hand, some scholars point to a radically lower estimate of only 108,000 annual defensive uses based on the National Crime Victimization Survey (Cook et al., 1997). The variation in these numbers remains a controversy in the field. The estimate of 3 million defensive uses per year is based on an extrapolation from a small number of responses taken from more than 19 national surveys. The former estimate of 108,000 is difficult to interpret because respondents were not asked specifically about defensive gun use.

One good guy with a gun, in Memphis, Tenn., already saved a woman from being kidnapped early this year. But beyond defense and self-defense, the ownership of guns in the hands of the people was noted by the Founding Fathers as "the palladium of the liberties of a republic; since it offers a strong moral check against the usurpation and arbitrary power of rulers; and will generally, even if these are successful in the first instance, enable the people to resist and triumph over them." (Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story).

Ban the feet!

As I mentioned earlier in this letter, the propaganda media and the anti-gun crowd tell you that you don't "need" a gun... that you don't "need" an "assault weapon" (so-called) and you don't "need" a high-capacity magazine for hunting or self-defense. This sophistry and semantic argle-bargle is designed to confuse and deflect.

According to FBI statistics, firearms are used to murder about 10,000 people per year on average. Of those, rifles of all types are used to kill about 300 people. Specifically, in 2019, the latest year we have statistics for, the FBI's "Crime In the United States" report tells us that rifles — including ones like the "scary" Bushmaster XM-15 rifle used in Buffalo that gun grabbers are constantly trying to ban — were used to commit 364 murders.

Hands and feet were used in 687 murders.

We don't know what weapon Cain used to kill Abel. Does it matter? After all, Cain didn't have a weapon problem. He had a problem of the heart. This is a microcosm of American society today. We blame instruments, never ourselves.

Background checks are something that gun owners and 2nd Amendment preservationists have long said are precursors to confiscation. Such claims have been met with protest and derision by gun grabbers, hoplophobes and those who seek to erase the 2nd Amendment from our consciousness. I do not know if they are the first step to looking at ourselves in the mirror or another step toward confiscation. After all, who is doing the checking?

I do know that any weapon the gun-grabbers can use in their scorched earth campaign to make sure only the government has guns will be used, so self-defense proponents must be vigilant and aware of the other side's forever goal: No gun in the hands of any private citizen, period... and that goal is now being funded by your taxes, paid for in the national budget.

Yours for the truth,

33 Useful Items That Should Be In Your Bug Out Bag

Everybody has their own idea about the most important things to include in a bug out bag. Different strokes, different folks. But whatever items you choose, make sure a lot of them are multipurpose items.

Your bug out bag might not seem very heavy, but after carrying it all day, it will begin to seem like the heaviest thing you've ever held. Multipurpose items can help you reduce the number of items you need to pack, thus making your bag lighter.

The list below includes some of the most useful survival items you can get your hands on. You don't necessarily have to put all of these items into your bug out bag—as I said, you don't want it to be too heavy. But I encourage you to seriously consider each item. Take your location and personal needs into account and decide whether they're worth including...

It Pays To Barter

I believe in the good old-fashioned barter system. I can trade a product or service of mine for another. In fact, I found a family member a gig fixing a laptop computer this week. He got paid and I received much needed computer repairs as a referral.

According to the latest State of Auto Insurance in 2023 survey by ValuePenguin (LendingTree), 45 states expect drivers will see a significant auto insurance increase this year — the biggest we’ve seen in the past six years. The survey reported, “The average annual rate increase across the U.S. is 8.4% — up from 1.3% in 2022.” The only states that may not see an increase are California, Washington D.C., Hawaii, Vermont and Wyoming. Illinois, Arizona, Georgia and New Hampshire will likely increase the most.
