Retail sales have missed
expectations for three months in a row and we just had the worst reading since January.

Reminder before you dig into today’s issue and an announcement…
Many of you
already know that my health has not been good and recent tests have confirmed
this. As a one-person show I am finding
my ability to keep up with the maintenance of our Poor Man sites a challenge.
We’re are a DIGEST of resources (like Reader’s
Digest)in that I find, report and post a variety of content. For example, I
frequently use material from Mother
Earth News which they provide to me free of charge.
I always try
to credit those sources but as I mentioned, my brain isn’t always firing on all
16 cylinders and as the Google blog police recently reminded me, I must have
neglected to credit someone so they yanked two posts (shoot first, ask second
is their modus operandi).
Regardless, I will be transferring this blog to the
site I own, one that is not subject to arbitrary deletion and I have placed all
of these internet properties and storefront inventory up for sale so I can
devote my remaining time to Habitat for Humanity, and my efforts at helping
returning military veterans to start their own business, etc. [see the link

# Things have gotten so bad that even
Wal-Mart is really struggling. Same-store
sales at Wal-Mart have declined for
five quarters in a row and the
outlook for the future is not particularly promising.
# The tech industry is supposed to be booming, but mass
layoffs in the tech industry are actually 68 percent ahead of last year’s pace.
# According to the Federal Reserve, 40 percent of all households in the United States are currently
showing signs of financial stress.
As the Middle
Class and the tax base for cities, states and the federal government continues
to decline, I strongly suspect our political system will continue its slide
toward a total collapse while our economy spits up blood and the government no
longer functions or serves the people.
During my
lifetime I’ve seen much America become
like Detroit…a population and city in decay from 50 years of socialist policies
and crooked leadership while most have their hands out in expectation of a
handout.
Corruption and
dysfunction continue to plague Congress and the White House leaving a few in
this nation to serve as its moral minority.
