Instead
of giving a politician the keys to the city, it might be better to change the
locks. ~Doug Larson
Why prepare?
Your grandmother's pantry with its seemly endless supply of canned goods, bottled preserves, and other staples is more than just a pleasant childhood memory. For many Americans, the extended pantry is making a comeback. The immense value of maintaining an extended food supply is quickly being realized.
With the uncertainties of our food supply and constant price increases at the grocery store, putting food away makes a lot of sense. With rising food costs, shrinking packaging, portion sizes, and uncertainties with the weather related crop shortages, it's basic food insurance.

- Because there's no such thing as "job
security".
- Because about 80% of the U.S. is ripe for a
massive earthquake - Hurricane and tornado season comes every year (in the
U.S). Or…it’s been a brutal winter.
- The cost of gasoline will never be below $2.00
a gallon again.
- The economy is uncertain.

as you know - like food storage. We'll cover more about food storage in
subsequent newsletters.
A plan is only as good as the commitment to complete it. Take the challenge - complete yours.. |

YOUR WILL NEED:
——— 2 oz infused oil or 2 oz dried herbs
——— 2 T Bees Wax
——— 2 drops essential oil (optional)
——— 2 oz infused oil or 2 oz dried herbs
——— 2 T Bees Wax
——— 2 drops essential oil (optional)
WHAT TO DO:
Warm the oil over low heat until just hot. Add the beeswax and stir the mixture until all the wax is melted. Add the oil if you’re using it. Pour the mixture into a small glass jar and let it cool. At this point, it should be solid. If it is too solid, reheat the salve and add another drizzle of oil. If it’s too soft, reheat and add some more wax. When it’s the right consistency, pour it back into the little jar, cap and label it.

When To Start Planting Your Garden
Even though we just hit March, I’m already starting to think about gardening this year. Produce prices continue to climb and the drought in California this year is sure to adversely affect produce prices throughout 2014.
While planting season in many regions of the country is still a few months away, starting seeds indoors can significantly increase your annual yields by creating more robust plants that are ready for harvest much sooner than crops planted outside during spring. More at:
